Many of mine I have put together from parts.
That probably translates to more of a customizer then a "builder".

I am an assembler, really. I do have a goal to make my first body in 2022, though.

I've built a bunch. My last custom build, from last year: I set out to make the most comfy guitar possible for me. This is what I came up with; it's super light, comfortable on a strap or seated, and works really well as an emergency canoe paddle. Carved mahogany body, maple neck, and ebony fretboard with stainless steel frets. Tuners are Steinberger gearless and the pickup is a Gretsch Filtertron. Volume control with abalone inlay...because that rhymes with 'baloney'.

Wish, very well done. I really like that gracile headstock shape. Elegant. What is the fretboard?
Leftee, assembler? Builder? Let’s not quibble, you make great looking guitars. Show some of your favorites. Larry, I think I remember a green tele shaped build you did. Peegoo, that guitar is one of a kind. Being a typical guitar traditionalist, I normally don’t go for the headless look. To me it looks like the Mohel took a little too much off the tip if you catch my drift. But that guitar just works. How’s things at P.R.S.?

I just had to keep this one. 24 3/4" scale and a Duncan Lil 59 in the bridge.

The first flic.kr/p/WWiGQj I did purchase the neck for this attempt. The mahogany body was really nice I wanted to ensure that it turned out to be an apex instrument. I’ve made a few since, actually making the necks and pretty much everything else has mostly been used building ukuleles Gourd uke flic.kr/p/X8jFPYGourd banjo uke flic.kr/p/WWiGQ9Made a few short-scale fretless electric bass, a some really short 20” scale cigarbox basses. flic.kr/p/WWiGQ9

Larry, I think I remember a green tele shaped build you did. These are all Warmoth ... assembled by me. The green "Tele Paul" (as I refer to it) is all custom spec (by me) from Warmoth. DSC_2418 by Larry Madsen, on Flickr None the less, all I really did on any of them is put the parts together.

How did you slice the body in half?
How many fingers do you have?

Woody, I agree it is a looker and it plays pretty sweet too.
It was kind of a no-holds-barred build
The cost of which can become ridiculous.
That tubular quilted maple top was $360.00.
I don’t mean the body I mean just the raw maple slab for the unfinished laminate top. 🙄
Edited to add: there is a story behind that build which I have told a few times in the past.
It began with Queenie looking at me and saying,” honey you don’t have a green guitar”.
I took that as free license to build a “green” guitar. 🙂

Even as an assembler/aspiring refin goober, I'm still learning terms like "blush". 😕

It plays great, and it is still my number one guitar at the moment. imgur.com/a/U3RdlHTI just enrolled in another guitar build at the same community college as above….this time it's an acoustic build. Somehow my instructor got hooked up with Taylor guitars, and we are building Big Baby Taylors, using actual Taylor woods/parts. The neck is just a big block of wood that will need to be shaped. I don’t like the two screws in the fretboard, but what can you do? I think it will be a fun build. This will be the first acoustic guitar I have built. I built 2 electrics at the community college class previously. It’s fall semester, so the class starts late August. I'll start a new thread for the build, with pics and stuff.
