Folks I was going through my usual and regular play list of music from our good friend Aufkiltre. I leave it to Larry to post a link if he likes ... It's another great piece! If I found it anyone can find it though. Thanks for keeping the ticker running for us on your talent!

Thanks doods. I post so much here I figured I was becoming the tiresome George Hamilton of the forum, lol. I think I've referenced or linked it elsewhere in here, but no matter. This is the track after I had my BIL add some organ. I'm unabashedly shooting for a Motown thing. Got inspired after watching Standing In The Shadows of Motown.

Thanks Ken. I don't know if you have/use xPand! in your version of Pro Tools but a funny production anecdote in this one. I was faced with a harmony dilemma as I really needed a top end ooh and ahh that was out of my range/ability. So I laid down my usual 2 harmonies doubled and dug up a female ooh and ahh in xPand!. My harmonies accentuate the "wahhh" transition and I did a little pitch slide on the female voice. Solo'd it sounds funky but works in the mix...I think.

Thanks Larry! I don't know how many here have heard *Shadows and Dreams*. I picked it up while listening to a stream of stuff in a link you provided and I don't think you have ever linked it as a primary song on a post. It is still my all-time favorite of your musical creations. Any chance you would post a direct link to it? Such a great song and performance. Edited to add: I saw the string of songs (at the very bottom) on the post you just made for Kind of Man I Am, but i don't see Shadows and Dreams among the offerings there.

Haha, thanks Larry. Shadows and Dreams was my first digital recording the better part of 20 years ago. I actually started the recording project while writing it and threw everything at it; pop, a silly little rap, a little opera attempt, lol. I've remixed it in recent years and replaced the cheesy Alesis SR16 drum machine with EZDrummer. I think it was one of the first tunes I posted in the recording forum back at the FDP. I have never used that technique for increasing my range but I have used Melodyne to do it on occasion. Melodyne isan auto-tune type program that can be used as a plugin or a stand-alone DAW. Very powerful. It even has a feature where you can change the resonance in your voice to sound female, or male if that's the case. As long as it's not overused it's pretty convincing.

I downloaded a fully functional demo version once of Melodyne, incredible software. Years back I found someone who had samples of a mellotron and downloaded them all into a folder. Some are polyphonic (octaves) and excruciatingly pitchy, so I used Melodyne to correct them. Pitch correction on a stereo polyphonic track where you can target one note is pretty amazing.
