I didn't expect to see it until next week but it came last night. Overall, I'm very pleased with it and impressed with a guitar of this quality and workmanship for under 6 bills. Here's a rundown:
- The body is 3-piece swamp ash. It's not perfectly matched but I can live with it. The finish seems flawless.
- The neck feels great in my hands, much better than my Mex Tele. The ASAT neck feels fuller and plays easier. The setup is perfect since it came from an authorized repair shop.
- The fretboard finish is more amber than the pics, which I really like.
- The MFD pickups retain that Fender Tele vibe but seem more...ummm..vibrant and articulate.
My Mex has a tendency for the high E to walk off the fretboard above the 12th fret and I've never fully been able to correct it. I'll give it some time with the ASAT but I suspect the Mex may be moved out.

😎
And I like your description of the MFD pickups.

I played it this morning at church and had to adjust to a couple of things. The pots are wired backward and basically on/off switches. As lefties know, this problem is common. I'll need to rewire it.
The bridge pickup through my Maz 18 had a noticeable upper-mid honk. I had to turn the amp mids to 0. It probably has as much to do with the swamp ash body. This guitar is my first with that wood.

You’ve got adjustable poles now!

How does that work? I thought the poles were to balance volume between strings. How does it affect tone, especially mids?

Well, that I can’t speak to. I haven’t messed with mine yet.

You can also mess with the overall pickup height.

That is a gordeous guitar LeftyMeister! I have MDF's on my G&L SB-2 bass and they are exiting pickups with exceptional output and clarity. They rival my Active Bass in output without being dark sounding. Whatever Leo did he must have sprinkled them with "Magic dust".
