None of my cats (or dogs, for that matter) have ever set my house on fire. Apparently I'm lucky in that regard. "In the United States, almost 1,000 home fires each year are started by pets, according to the American Humane Association, although it remains unclear what percentage of these blazes are started by cats." (estimated 100 cat caused fires in 3 years by turning on stoves) My cats generally restrict themselves to turning on my Bose Wave Radio in the wee hours, by parking themselves on its invitingly flat surface. Their selection of stations is eclectic: Spanish language (with static), Soft Rock (with static) and Static (with static). Volume level is always at max, of course. www.mercurynews.com/2021/12/31/cats-caused-more-than-100-house-fires-in-the-past-3-years-by-turning-on-stoves-officials-say/
