Maybe 4 years ago I bought one of those lights that attaches to the handle of your grill that pops on when you open it, so you can see what you are grilling in the dark.
Out of nowhere, Amazon messages me that it came to their attention that the seller I bought it from (which I didn’t remember wasn’t them) was caught selling counterfeit products and kicked off of Amazon. They said they could not verify if mine was genuine, so they refunded me in full and added the purchase price plus tax to my Amazon account (I don’t have the credit card I bought it with anymore, don’t know if they tried running it or not).
I cannot verify if it is genuine either. I can verify that it says Weber on it and it still works and is still on its original set of batteries, so that works for me.

Oh they’re great! This MAY be the one I bought, it looks like it anyway. Mine was $15 cheaper 4 years ago. Weber Grill Out Handle Light,Black,3" H x 2" W x 4.5" L www.amazon.com/dp/B000WEKNYW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_glt_fabc_Y0WW899KGH0R1BXN3ZT4My grill doesn’t get much light from the fixture on my deck, it was nearly unusable in the winter when it’s dark at 5pm. This light lets me grill all year long.

Amazon sometimes surpasses me. I've had a few instances where I've applied to return something and they say keep it but we'll refund anyway.

I got some "potential fire damage" Christmas lights refunded years ago.
One pro tip however, if you have a Kindle - open a ticket about anything (hell, claim you can't log into your account or whatever).
Talk to the service rep, and when they ask if there's anything they can do, ask them to remove the ads from your Kindle for being a loyal customer.
Boom, free $15 upgrade!

there's a clip on version of the grill light that i use as a stand light sometimes.
amazon's return setup is amazing. i returned 3 items yesterday. just walked into the UPS store and handed them to the guy, had him scan the qr and walked out.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know such things existed. I don't see a similar product specifically for my smoker, but there appear to be similar generic products at the bottom of jazzguy's link.

Can’t complain about that.
I don’t do much grilling, the old Weber is hanging in there though. I’ve cut back on meat, not sure why, just don’t crave it as much as I used to. I use a LED head lamp, I’ve got a few of them.

I use a LED head lamp, I’ve got a few of them. That was my former technique, usually prefaced with a search for where the heck I left it last time.

Probably why I have a few of them. They are one of those “Can’t have too many” items . This old house is dark, all the aged pine of 14 foot ceilings, walls and floors just suck up the ambient light. I carry a Lithium 123 battery powered flashlight in my pocket, and use it throughout the day.

Getting things back to Amazon, I got an email from Amazon that my account was compromised. What the f..k? I’ve never had an Amazon account and refuse to buy from this anti-American bastard, so how is my account compromised?

I get a call every day about my Coinbase account having been compromised. I’m now worried since I never had such an account.

I have nothing but good things to say about amazon. Their inventory is vast, free shipping if you subscribe to amazon prime. Given my location, free shipping far outweighs the annual membership cost. If you treat what you have receives nice and return it in good condition, they accept the return, and.....they pay the return shipping. Only downside is amazon is likely hurting local retail outlets.

"Amazon Customer Serviced me without asking"
Looking over the title of the thread, I came up with some alternative meanings. For instance:
"Amazon serviced me, the customer, without asking."
————————————— There is definitely a difference between my smartly phrased thread title, which only implies, and actually just going ahead and laying something out. Just sayin’.

Real men just grill in the dark. i stopped worrying about being a real man whilst watching Melrose Place in the 90’s.

the clip on the handle grill lights work great - with a decklight or flashlight seems like something on the grill is always in a shadow.
