Of course, I like other stuff as well but old gospel tunes float my boat. Here is a short medley of I'll Fly Away, I Saw the Light, and Will the Circle Be Unbroken.
I don't know if this was recorded at the Ryman but it's a country super group playing and singing. Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Vince Gill, Charlie Pride, Allison Kraus, and quite a few others. Hope you enjoy and feel free to post other tunes.

Oh, btw,I posted this on another web site and the thread was closed and the guy talking about religious beliefs was suspended.
I hope you like this idea for a thread so let's keep our self moderation in. overdrive. I feel sort of silly saying that here.
This is just a place to post music clips and discuss the singers or band Thanks
Paul
Great version of I'll Fly Away.

Back about 1973, when I lived in San Francisco, I used to listen to a Gospel show called "Songs From the Upper Room" in the middle of the night on Sundays. That Inez Andrews song was a favorite that I picked up from listening to that show.

I was too! If you look at the last post, it's from a Mod saying thread locked, suspension issued. There quite a few good songs posted, I hoping our group here will post even more.

Here is one from Sister Rosetta Tharpe. She plays a wickedly excellent guitar too.

I enjoyed the church choirs in the Jazz Fest Gospel Tent when I lived in New Orleans.

I think what happened there was the fact that that forum has a sub-sub-forum for people who play in praise bands in church, and it appears to me that the mods have been a little lenient on some of the posts on that sub-sub-forum.

Could be argued that this isn't 100%, straight Gospel, but if it isn't, it's certainly right "in the neighborhood" and obviously born out of that tradition. There is so much cross-fertilization between Gospel and Blues, Gospel and Soul, Gospel and Jazz that the lines sometimes get blurred:

I agree with the point made above about not discussing religion in this thread. It's against the rules and besides, the music speaks for itself.

Love old time music, gospel included. Grew up in a religious home in East Tennessee so we spent a few nights a week around a piano at my grandmas or our house singing. Despite the recording quality due to age I still usually like the old versions of most songs, Carter Family, Louvin Brothers, Stanley Brothers, etc. as a side note there's a great podcast episode about the Louvin Brothers on "Cocaine and Rhinestones" if you wanna check it out. Louvin Brothers Behind the Scenes..This is Ricky Skaggs not sure why they have George Jones' picture on it:

TD, "I'll take you there" features the great David Hood on bass and the whole Rhythm Section laying down the type of groove that had artists from all over coming to dinky little Muscle Shoals to make music.

I've never heard of these guys, the post above this one, thanks for posting it. Heck ya, I've liked just about all of them.
I had this on CD from a while back. He really belts it out. It might possibly be the best rendition of How Great Thou Art.
Of course we can't miss The Band.
