...that you (thankfully) missed when they were released. Just stumbled across this Herb-Alpert-&-the-Tijuana-Brass-meets-Slim-Whitman-and-the-Bay-City-Rollers abomination this morning:
I feel thoroughly violated.
And I mean that in a bad way...

I won a DJ copy of this song by Jimmy Cross many, many years ago.

Oh-no ! Eloise is a classic ! They really went to town with it, didnt they. Such much drama, emotion and pathos packed into a 5 minute pop song. I have always enjoyed it, for some reaon it was always being played on the local radio station in my youth. On a night with good reception for AM radio it sounded glorious coming out of the 2 inch transistor radio speaker. This version sounds as if someone has "remixed/remastered" it, sometimes the songs come out worse.

For me, it's toss up between Terry Jacks "Seasons in the Sun" and Paul Anka's "Having My Baby."
On behalf of all Canadians, I apologize for what we have loosed upon the world. It's a national shame, so I will not post links.

If you have never had a reason to hate me, here's a good one.
I think this tune is about a Kentucky Fried Chicken 28-piece family meal.

“Elouise” was quite a big hit over here…… and I think The Damned also had a hit with a cover of it in the’80s.

I'm sorry, let me know if you need me to take some time off. Sadly, this is one most of us have heard.

Bonus points for a terrible job of lip-synching and the bilious dinner jacket:

My musical stylings mirror those of Slim. But with a Les Paul and a Marshall.

I do grudgingly admit that I've always respected the grace and poise with which Slim presented his overriding awfulness. I own a Slim Whitman "best of" TV album and a 1953 magazine featuring him on the cover. How many of you can honestly say that?
Uh-huh...I thought not… This album sits in an honored slot in my LP collection: right next to the Frank Fontaine/"Crazy Guggenheim" album.

Country Dick Montana of The Beat Farmers passed away in the middle of a performance.
You gotta give points for that.
