...have been hiding in my adipose tissue and are now being re-released into my bloodstream. That's gotta be the only explanation for why I'd see something like this while browsing an auction site:
Yipes!

In denial, arya? Hey now! I turn off, tuned out and dropped back in years ago! *adjusts Apache headband, hikes up orange corduroy bell bottoms and straightens tie-dye T-shirt in an indignant huff*

This thread, referencing the stashing of drugs in fatty tissue as it does, has inspired me to create a new product. What could make a better snack food to be consumed while watching cheesy, B&W, 1950s sci-fi movies than... ...Acid-Infused Pork Rinds®!?
But nobody has commented on the built-in, throbbing after-image feature of the bass in the OP. Does that qualify it as an "active" bass?

It really just looks stereotypical 80s album cover to me.

All of those whacky guitars those bands used had to end up somewhere now that most of the players are probably dead of overdoses from either coke or breathing hairspray fumes. The lucky ones died of 3rd degree burns from smoking while applying hairspray.

I don't see the drug influence. However, I can see it hanging around the neck of a Star Wars storm trooper.

I’m kind of a traditionalist. The basic stringed instrument going way back into history has always taken a feminine form. Easy to hold but demanding in it’s relationship. From the 1/64th violin to the Concert Bass.

You're OK. I never did drugs and I see it too. I'll pass on the acid-laced pork rinds, but I do love fresh Baconettes warmed just a bit in the microwave.
