Just signed on new construction in Belton, TX - it won’t be ready until late in the year (the slab is due to be poured in a few weeks) but I’ll move in with SWMBO in Austin in the next few months while we wait.
I guess I can finally sell the snowblower, huh? I should buy a new car in NH before I move, too - no sales tax.

Had to look up Belton, looks like a nice area. Is it still considered The Hill Country or are you too far north and too close to the Big D to still qualify? Looks close enough to Austin when needed, but insulated enough from the madness of larger cities/towns that it should be nice and peaceful and quiet if that's what you're looking for. Not quite Hill Country, but not far. In the land of serious high school football, though. I love NH (we both do) but just couldn’t find housing with what we needed without spending well north of a million.

Congratulations! But now is not the time to be buying a new car... Actually, it can be. Around here, used car prices are inflated more that the cost difference between sticker and what you might negotiate on a new car. I got x-plan pricing on my new F-150 and got premium money for the car I was replacing. Other than the wait, I came out pretty good on the deal. |

She told me the previous fall that she’d always wanted a place in TX. We are on Lake Corpus Christi near Sandia. She’ll stay here all year whilst I venture north to the mountains of ID for summer. |
