I often select movies to stream based on the trailer/preview of the film. I recognize right upfront that those gluing the scenes together, are going to use attention grabbing highlights ... sometimes making the trailer better than the movie, when all is said and done. I accept this "polishing of the apple," as salesmanship. But what about selecting a movie based on scenes that never appear in the film? Would you feel cheated?
Is it like when you go to a restaurant, and pick out a meal based on the picture of it you see on the menu? I mean, okay ... the omelet wasn't as puffed up as you thought it would be, but still tasty. But what if the photo implies a serving of hash browns included ... and then the plate arrives without it?
This is the situation a couple of viewers found themselves in, after paying $3.99 to see "Yesterday" (the Beatles what-if movie). Actress Ana de Armas figured prominently in the trailer, and they rented the film based on that alone. But her scenes were cut .... or rather, the scenes were there, but a different actress was substituted. Would Pee Wee Herman be a suitable substitute for Sean Connery in "Goldfinger?"
I think the guys are taking it a bit far, in that they filed a class action lawsuit, over the bait and switch. I think I would have just ordered the hash browns as a side and taken the lesson that not all is as it appears.

Would I watch an exact copy of Goldfinger with Pee Wee substituted in the lead role? Yes, yes I would.
I saw that movie when it was in theaters, I enjoyed it.

Just more frivolous BS by snowflake individuals. I'm no attorney, but I believe this does not constitute a product defect. The plaintiffs would have to prove damages to win the case. Pain and suffering? Guilty! Of being a snowflake!

Pain and suffering? Guilty! Of being a snowflake! At best, false advertising and their damages are $3.99 plus the time they spent watching the movie, minus the value of the movie they did receive, which is net total of about $3.99.

If I purchase a movie on a service to which I already pay a subscription for the privilege of watching their crap, I expect something even more craptacular. If it turns out to be good I just feel dirty.

The other day, I met a genie who granted me one wish.
I told him, "I just want to be happy.
Now I'm living in a cottage with 6 dwarves and working in a mine.
