In my lifelong pursuit to accumulate musical instruments I can barely play, Royall came to my attention - they import a metal bodied, pear shaped single cone tenor resonator.
Maybe 20 years ago I was at a small guitar show where a one table dealer was languidly playing slide blues on a 20’s National tricone pear shaped tenor. I was completely captivated. I’ve looked at them a few times since, but the price of admission has always been waaaay more than I can justify.
Royall finally had a resupply, so I somewhat impulsively grabbed one that should be here next week.
Any tenor players here? I have no idea where to start with tuning for slide on one of these.

I have an old Harmony airplane bridge tenor guitar and an old tenor banjo that are tuned CGDA. They were both my uncle’s instruments from his days playing in a “cowboy band” back in the ‘30s.

An old dear friend and colleague, who passed away now, maybe 20 years ago, may be the only new wave electric tenor guitar player ever.
Bruce Harris plays his tenor guitar on the only released track of his group, The Spikes, on a compilation he and I put together, called "Permanent Wave."
Permanent Wave was a collection of UK new wave and European singles by groups on CBS International that had no other opportunity for US release. We put Bruce's tune on the compilation because we (I) liked it.
His tune: High Heel Big Deal.
RIP Bruce. All who knew you loved you.
Here's a link. The pic on the link is NOT the group or Bruce!
