Anyone else love the college hoops tournament? I got two dogs in the hunt (hopefully).
Creighton - Proud alum Indiana - long time fan and my oldest son is an alum.
I was lucky enough to be at the 1997 National Title Game in Indy between Arizona and Kentucky. It was a great game full of intensity. I also got to see a lot of college legends there (John Wooden, Kareem, Magic etc).

Indiana just beat Illinois so I think they punched their ticket.

I'm a huge Hawkeye fan, but my interest in college BB has waned. I used to love the tourney. I'd take the first thursday and friday off and spend the whole day watching games. I entered multiple pools and ran one myself.
Then the game evolved into what I call "thugball". Massively physical play, daring the refs the blow the whistle on nearly every play. Tom Izzo was one of the pioneers of the style. Put a couple football lineman in the paint, beat the crap out the other team, get more than your share of fouls, cry about it and point to the disparity in fouls, then do whatever you want the second half. It worked, so more and more teams are doing it. The officiating sucks, the game unwatchable (for me).
After Iowa's semi-final vs MSU in....2015 I think it was, I gave up. That game got a fair amount of attention nationally, but of course nothing changed.
Watch a game from the 80's and compare to now. The physicality is night and day different.
So now I run my 8 person total-luck pool but watch zero games. I don't even watch Iowa games anymore. I just check scores and update the results.

Hey slacker. I can understand where you are coming from. I refuse to watch the NBA. The pro game has went downhill for me.
Iowa is actually playing some real good basketball right now. They could make a run. I loved Ronnie Lester when I was a kid.

ARIZONA grad here. Eight ARIZONA degrees in the family. So, I'm looking for the Wildcats to take it all. Head coach Tommy Lloyd is in his first year ever as a head coach. He tends to let his players run and shoot without too much interference. They play great defense. It does take some luck to win it all. We shall see!

Sweet Sixteen! No matter what from here ARIZONA has done well. Unranked at the beginning of the season and currently ranked #2. Ranked that high...again...with a first-year-ever head coach.

Arkansas is in the Sweet 16. They play Gonzaga next. The HAWGs lost to Baylor in the Elite 8 last year. They played Baylor closer than anyone and I was certain they would win it all if they beat Baylor.
They’re a different team this year, not quite as explosive on the offensive side. They play great defense, but they’ll need JD Notae to play lights out offense and to stay out of foul trouble ito have a shot at beating Gonzaga.

Iowa choked in the opening round. Not surprised...it just seems like Iowa can never come through when expectations are high. Glad I'm not as engaged as I used to be.
I'll still be following scores for my pool, but that's what I do every year.

I'm on the bandwagon, go St Peter's! And I'm lovin it!!
Forget 15th seed, they are running with the big dogs and have an enrollment of only 2,100. On top of that, the players don't have special dorms, weight rooms, cafeteria or many of the other perks of going to a larger school. A M A Z I N G!

Well, since Arkansas lost to Duke last night, I’ll be rooting for Kansas since we lived there for 10 years. If they lose, I’ll pull for St. Peters.
p.s. For the love of all that’s holy, please someone beat Duke. Their fans are almost as obnoxious as Alabama football fans. Lol

Nova star Justin Moore tore his Achilles last night. That puts a major dent in the Cats chances

So does the moderator have an issue with the St. Peters team name.... We don’t and I encourage everyone to type it in their replies! I am not a basketball fan, but I can’t help rooting for the quasi-local PeaChickens.
