It's up there in the Gliest of Ug. The $5k makes me suspicious that this is some sort of social experiment on us guitarists.
*research guys* "Is there anything these schmucks won't buy??"

Slightly reminiscent-ish, Ric 950...
But yeah, no.

Won't be buying it myself but good on them for doing something different.

Well I like it. I admire quirky guitar designs, and this one fits the bill. I won't be buying one however, but I imagine they will sell out fast even at that price. Guitar collectors are a strange breed, and this could be right up their alley (so to speak).

That makes the Epiphone solidbodies from the 60s look...good.
Or the Teiscos.
I'm sure they'll sell like hotcakes though, because GIBSON.

Oh, there's plenty worse than that.
It looks a lot like the MIJ "tulip" guitars of the 60s and 70s. Tokai made something similar from aluminum, called the Talbo.

Yeah, I think the $5k price tag makes it uglier. I'd probably buy it for the right price if I saw it hanging in a pawnshop. That or something of equal value, like a box of ammo. 😄

To my jaundiced iBallz, this Gretsch Astro Jet ranks right up there as a really goofy-lookin' guitar.

Every few years, Gibson seems to feel some sort of obligation to let one escape:
"All right: who brought the 'shrooms into the lunch room?"

However, as with the launch of Sputnik, the Soviets were way ahead of us in this department: The Tonikas look like Thalidomide casualties...

There must have been a meeting where Ted was like, yeah I don't know what I was thinking...no go lol. But like unfinished symphonies and songs dead artists didn't want to release...here it is

The Tonikas look like Thalidomide casualties... Now that's funny! Irreverent but hilarious. Oh, and I like all them too. Many may be aesthetically challenged, but they all have one great attribute. They're guitars. That alone is enough to justify their existence in my obvious and unashamedly biased git-loving opinion.

As non-Gibson as that Theodore is, it is positively pedestrian looking compared to the Wandre Krundaal Bikini...with onboard amplifier:

I've never been a fan of guitars that look like they're melting.

At least that looks like a Steinberger, which were all the rage back then... (and designed by Ned!).

The one on the far right looks like it might have compartments for your picks, your Snark, and maybe even a strap.
