I believe he has multiple health issues, including spinal problems that have required surgery. Very sad if indeed it is the end of his performing.

Time has not been kind to him. He looks like a man considerably older than his years.
I think I know the feeling.

They/he had quite a run. Bittersweet.

I'm a fan, shame to see him like that. But yeah he said they're officially done as a band. Glad I got to see them 40 yrs ago.

Phil was my favorite drummer without a doubt. Also a great singer but that is long gone as is his drumming. I am glad I have seen Genesis' and Phil's solo shows a number of times over the years. Genesis was one of the best combinations of extremely creative musical minds since The Beatles. Genesis' personnel's level of musicianship was at a much higher level than The Beatles. Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, Mike Rutherford of Mike and the Mechanics, and Phil Collins. The list wouldn't be complete without Tony Banks. He is a phenomenal writer. I love his melodies and the way he puts chords together. WHAT an incredible talent!

I got to see Phil Collins on my birthday, 1985. Such a great show.

Yeah, I think he gets around with a cane these days. Nasty neck and vertebrae issues. Larry Carlton is saying his current tour will be his last as well. Playing the guitar is just not fun for him anymore. 😢

MOJO, Phil. We all hit the point we can no longer continue.

I saw Genesis back in 1976.
He deserves to retire.

Seen him drumming on the Lamb Lies Down On Broadway Tour 74 or 75. A drummers' nirvana (they had two drummers on stage).

Most likely he was Chester Thompson.

I think it was Chester who was the drummer along with Phil in 1984 when I saw Phil’s solo performance.

Can't recall who that drummer was. Not been into Genesis or progressive rock then and only went by chance, on invitation. Just to be served with a jawdropping performance from PG and equally impressive PC. A primer to syncopating monster Billy Cobham later in the same year, as funny as that may sound to some. No worthwhile footage of the Lamb Lies Down tour on the web but this one from the year before captures the vibe, some.

Might be referring to Bill Bruford who toured w them circa '76, right around when Thompson joined, but that was after the Lamb

Ach; he’s 71 and took a long hard road. I think it is Genesis’ last show with him singing. I am sure he might be on stage again in some capacity.
