I recently purchased a 9 ft long mat to practice putting. It's never been the worst part of my game, but there's always room for improvement, and it has already helped me. I've realized that concentration is key, even on short putts. So, I decided to research the shortest putt missed on the PGA tour, and this is one of the vids that came up. WARNING! This may be difficult to watch, for golfers anyway. Missed putts

I remember the Ernie Els debacle. Painful to watch some of the Rory ones too. Thanks for posting that. Makes me feel better about my own putting skills. Lol

Hard to watch for sure!
Luckily, the guys I play with are generous with the gimmees.

I have never missed a short putt like that 1st guy. Course I do not golf. Only way to make it a sure thing.

Cringe-worthy footage!
I read a book by Dave Pelz in the 90's called The Short Game Bible and bought a putting green. It dramatically improved my putting and short game. I no longer play because of back issues.

Sorry to hear you're not playing any more! If I recall, you were pretty good. Back issues are no fun at all. I held a 10 handicap for a few of years when I was younger. The last time I played in a league in my late 40's, I had a 3 handicap for 9 holes. But I was streaky and, on a bad day, it could get ugly.
The problem is actually a couple of broken ribs between my shoulder blades when the kids were younger. They're getting persnickety as I age.

OUCH that was hard to watch.
I found the best way to improve my putts was directly connected to the shape of the putter head (looking down at the top). If the shape better helps me visualize a capital T, my putts are far more accurate.

If the shape better helps me visualize a capital T, my putts are far more accurate. I have used a mallet putter for years, and use the lines on the back to line up with the target. Kind of similar to what you're saying, I believe. I can't putt with a blade type putter any more. Rocky, on a good day, I'll break 90, and that hasn't happened in a while! But putting isn't my problem.

I'm right eye dominant and often pull short putts. I usually play with my grandsons and they can't stop laughing!

Bernhard Langer was in the video. He was notorious for having the yips, as was Tom Watson.

Short putts are like free throws. You never appreciate them until you miss one.
