I ordered some black and blue football jigs off of Amazon. These were ready to fish lures, not unfinished jig heads. I ordered two packages (for a total of 4 jigs) in 3/8s oz and two packages (for a total of 4 jigs) in 1/2 oz. When they arrived, I do as I always do and weighed the lures. All of the 3/8s weighed 1/2 oz and the 1/2 oz weighed 5/8s. I contacted the vendor (Reaction Tackle) about the mistake. All I want is for them to send four that actually weigh 3/8s oz. I should add that I’ve purchased jigs from this outfit before and the weights were correct.
Anyway, this the response I got:
“Thank you so much for your orders and for letting us know!
We actually weight our jigs without the skirt, wire keeper and the hook, and this is known as the industry standard, as far as we know. Tungsten is very expensive, and if we could use less we would. Have you bought any other brands that weigh them differently? We would love to find out and test some others to make sure.
Thanks Chad- Reaction Tackle “
Absurd! Go into your favorite tackle shop and take any ready to fish lure whether it be a crank bait, jerk bait, spinner, etc… out of the package and weigh it. A 3/8s oz crank bait will weigh .375, a 1/2 will weigh .50, etc…
What rock do these clowns crawl out from under?

One of those fake foam rocks they use in TV/movies, apparently.

All I know is, I'd be upset also! A 3/8 oz jig should weigh at least close to .375. Etc...

All I know is, I'd be upset also! A 3/8 oz jig should weigh at least close to .375. Etc... You'd be shocked at the difference a 3/8 oz or 1/2 oz can make. I've literally thrown a 1/2 oz lure for 2 hours, then switch to the identical lure in a 3/8 oz and started getting fish. It's the fall rate. Sometimes the most subtle difference can do the trick. But, that be damned. It's the simple matter that if I had wanted the weights they sent me, I would've ordered them. And, then to get the b.s. explanation, well...

If they don't get it resolved, at least you can give them a bad review! Not that it will overcome all the good reviews they probably have, but there is at least a little "peace of mind" factored in. I probably leave more bad reviews than good on Amazon, because I think future buyers should know when items aren't presented properly.

Cop out. Sounds to me like they made the sale and their job is done; message received loud and clear. That vendor would be dead to me.
