My son’s dog Bella has a problem with recurring UTI. His vet just keeps prescribing antibiotics which have proven to provide a temporary solution for her. The vet bills and meds are proving to be too expensive to continue. Do any of you dog lovers have experience with the procedure or this problem?

I don’t have any experience to offer. But I hate when the pup isn’t well.

Sorry I do not. Vets can get very pricey. Took our mastiff in awhile back and they started talking a lot of tests, x-rays, and ultrasounds. Oh and rx from a vet can cost 10 times what the same med ftom a pharmacy runs. A great many meds can be procured from a pharmacy by having the vet just write an rx. Some not (carprofen comes to mind).

i've never heard of that... but it sounds logical. you might want to check for bladder stones. i had a female labbie that had chronic UTI and finally one day, she was completely clogged... it was an EMERGENCY situation. Doc came in on sunday morning and catheterized her and operated the next day. she had a large medicine bottle of stones that looked like the PEA gravel (no pun intended) we landscaped with...
doc said that was probably the source of her UTI's.
just a thought.
