When it comes to problems for consumers, eating PLU stickers on produce seems the epitome of low hanging fruit. Someone had written into one of those gurus in the newspaper, asking whether it's harmful to eat the "Price Look Up" sticker on fruits and vegetables, since she keeps accidentally gobbling them down. The response went into an explanation of what the stickers are for and the fact that eating them won't turn you into a tomato or a toMAHto.
Sheesh .....Am I the only one who peels these coded stickers off before biting into an apple or pear?
How about: Dear Electro Guru,
I keep forgetting to remove new headphones from the plastic bags they come sealed in, before I use them. Will this damage my hearing or make me look stupid if I wear them that way in public?
Or, Dear Health Nutte,
I keep damaging my gums by brushing my teeth with a toothbrush that's still encased in that hard plastic case. Also, the toothpaste keeps falling off.
Or, Dear Medical Expert,
You know those silica gel packs that come in bottle of pills and so on? They're marked "do not eat," but can I make tea with them? They remind me of little teabags.

Save the stickers in zip lock bags for a Christmas treat the family will love. Wasn't it Jonesered chainsaws that came with a notice not to stop the chain with you genitals?

Wait a minute...you mean the DO NOT EAT refers to only the contents of the silica gel pack? I assumed it was an admonition to eschew all consumables in general. Well! Ya learn something new every day Sounds like a dopey woman that is too stupid/lazy/etc., to do what any reasonable person would do. What scares me about people like this is she probably has a driver's license and operates a 3K+ motor vehicle at highway speeds. AND she is probably procreating. Stupid parents usually make stupid children.

Fun Fact: Silica Gel is non-toxic.. it's the package that is a choking hazard.

Am I the only one who peels these coded stickers off before biting into an apple or pear? No. I take the stickers off too. I can't imagine they are good for consumption.
