I purchased four sets of Schaller Strap lock connectors (strap side) and they tossed in this (bonus) pair of Dunlops. DSC_3106 by Larry Madsen, on Flickr I'll use them, but I need to get the post button for the guitar. I see versions and variations on eBay. Even though they are cheap ... I want to be sure I get the right ones on the first try. These say "Original" like what I have. I assume these are a correct match. www.ebay.com/itm/361502958322?ssPageName=STRK%3AMEBIDX%3AIT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649I have seen some that say Dual and Original, some say just Dual and I think there is another variant as well. It's a tad confusing to a guy never having used Dunlop.

I use the Dunlops. Like em better than the rest. If I get a new axe, and don't have another, I'll use the rubdrber washers until I do. I don't like the posts you linked. The knobs are too small to use with a regular strap. You can get "official" posts with large knobs that are really secure just by themselves. Check out the posts here. I think they call them "dual" because they work well without the strap part. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/StraplokBDDN--dunlop-straplok-dual-design-strap-button-set-nickel

I have to admit, you are saying things there that make no sense to me. It seems you are saying you don't like the ones I linked because they do not work as well without strap lock, just a strap only. If so, I am not concerned with that. The more I read your post I think I am getting what you say better.. "Dual" simply refers to useable with the strap lock and also without strap lock. I also take it either the one I linked or the one you linked will (both) work fine with my strap lock connectors?

The ones on eBay that you link to will work just fine, they're a version that they used back in the '70's.
The "dual" version has a much larger head on the button, which can be used on a regular strap without the lock.

I always use the Schaller locks so this will be an odd-ball set for me and I'm ok with that. I saw the four sets of Schallers (strap side only) on eBay and bought because it will allow me to set up a few more of my many straps for use.

If they are Dunlop, I suppose they should work.

All parts sells their economy strap buttons that work with the Shallers for cheap. Nuff said.

To confuse even more, there's also the "flush mount" Dunlops. Had them one one guitar and liked them, but didn't like having to drill so far into the guitar. The Strap side for Dunlops are interchangeable with all 3 versions of the Dunlop buttons.

Small dilemma on the Schaller strap locks. Three do not have nuts and one chrome lock has a gold nut. It seems to me these "panel nuts" or "jam nuts" or whatever the correct term is ... Are 3/8" and take a 1/2" wrench ... they appear to be very fine thread. Probably 32. These would appear to be correct. Can anyone confirm this? Before I blow ten bucks on the wrong thing www.ebay.com/itm/232383705639?epid=1118337206&hash=item361b25f227:g:7GMAAOSwcbVgXcr3I went through all my parts bins and cans finding nothing on hand that fits.
