an offset style type of SG junior Reverend Sensei Jr.!
Although a wrap-around bridge would be more SG-ish.

All the stuff I want seems to go back to the 80's when I had big dreams and little cash! I mean a US-Made PRS would be nice, but doesn't make me lust after one. I'm currently jonseing for a couple of things. A Ferrari Red 1984-87 Gibson Explorer (no pickguard!) to match my '85 Red Gibby Flying V XPL (the one with the Explorer style headstock.) Fender MIJ JB-555 All black Jazz Bass to match my other MIJ All Black P and P-J basses. Fender Reissue 62 Telecaster with a double-bound red body, and "Custom Telecaster" on the headstock. May have to aim lower and get the MIJ version! And maybe a Gibson LP with the F hole (just to save weight!)
Things I would LIKE to have and could MAYBE justify the price, but don't play enough to warrant! 80's made in the USA Hamer Explorer Schecter Pete Townsend model.

When the economy picks up, I’m thinking an Original 50s Tele. It may be awhile.

Lately, I've been buying amps like I used to buy guitars, always with the same thought of, "I need one of these like I need another hole in my head". Anyway, me and my swiss cheese head go back to the mid sixties and the first time I saw a Gretsch White Falcon. The skies opened up, a magical glow surrounded this guitar and heavenly music played it's way through my not so holey head as my jaw dropped to the shiny, tile floor. With a price tag of a 1000 bucks, my eyes glazed over and quickly brought me back to reality. It's been on hold for more than 50 years.
My second coming of a must have guitar was a Gibson Les Paul single cut back in '02 when I ended my 30 some odd year hiatus from electrics. They didn't have any at the time and I was not familiar with guitar shopping and musical instrument stores in general. I did end up buying a LP but, it was of the DC variety and along with the Blues Jr I bought with it, filled my new appetite for a while. 20 years, 24 guitars and 15 amps later, I finally got the LP I set out to get in the 'second coming'. Every now and then, I check out the White Falcon and it's other variants with the thought of a purchase at some point. I have two Gretsch's at present. A 6119 HT '62 reissue and a 6128T in Cadillac green. I had a third, 6120 Nashville but, sold it several years ago so it's like I dabble in the Gretsch world, still thinking about a White Falcon and that's about as far as it goes but, I have not written it off yet.

If a G6228 with a Bigsby in Cadillac Green came up for a nice price, I probably would have one.

I just knocked one off my list this morning: A Jazzmaster. I bumped into a friend a couple of days ago who mentioned he was ready to sell a 2004 AVRI in his possession. He let me take it home to check it out... et voila! An impulse buy on my part, but I've long thought a Jazzmaster would fit nicely into the collection (which, honestly, is larger than it should be.)

I don't find the majority of Reverend's bass body shapes attractive and detest the majority of their color palette. That said, the craftsmanship of my Dub King bass is absolutely impeccable and I love the sound:
The burst finish on mine and their translucent "Rock Orange" option are about the only finishes they offer that appeal to me at all. But that doesn't keep them from sounding great. I've even warmed up to the shape of my Dub King, which I thought was bizarre and not very attractive when I first saw one. Kind of reminds me of a couple of women I've known during my life: at first blush, they didn't look very attractive physically, but wound up having such great personalities once I got to know them that they even started looking prettier to me after awhile.

I'd be ok dumping my whole inventory and starting over with;
R8 or R9 LP
Nocaster build (I think my current is close enough)
A custom build 2.5 TSB Strat (alder body <4 lbs, opaque finish), vee to round shape flame neck, 7.25" to 10" compound radius, 6150 frets), vintage hardware, Fralin Real 54's
59 Historic red ES-335

I'm pretty well set up. However, I wouldn't mind having a Gibson Moderne reissue with the Gumby headstock. I had an Epi version with the V headstock. I could have lived with that except it had some factory flaws that I just couldn't stand. Sold it for a small profit. The hard case weighed 17 pounds!

I bought a Dillion Moderne about three years ago but I returned it. I just wasn’t satisfied with the quality.

You definitely need a good Jr or Jr DC - I'm partial to the single-pickup monster, as much as I normally use two-pickup guitars with both on and prefer the Gibsons for hte "individual tone knob per pickup" option. I don't play the Jr DC as much as I could, but ...every time I do, I am reminded why I love the thing. It's one where you can wrest almost any sound out of it, but you have to WORK for it, and there's no hiding behind anything. And the attitude in spades comes out the minute I open it up. It's one of those guitars that really rewards playing with the knobs - so many sounds in there waiting to be let out. I've added my usual speed knobs, robotuners, and an essential sticker to the vast expanse of pickguard. I actually LIKE the "reminds me of the metal year guitars" pickguard on this model, and had lusted after a blue DC for ages but couldn't justify a CS one. My inner six year old needed more Skeletor in its life.

+1 Only for me it's the Esquire. Have one converted to a P90 and another one with a DiMarzio. Vol/tone controls only and stripped of all switchgear, the same principles apply. Most frequently utilized guitars of the lot when playing with the band.
