I previously had 2 15” speaker cabs. I had trouble lifting one to put on top the other due to limited space. I got the idea to make one 2x15” bass cab with JBL Selenium horn 1.5khz-5khz Originally started out with 2 Eminence Kappalite 3015’s in it but I ordered 2 Faital Pro 15HS520 speakers with better ratings. Now the cab runs ~40Hz- 5khz at 1350 watts RMS. The cab is a Leland Crooks Speaker Hardware Modified Fearful cab. Didn’t want mid range speakers as my horn handles that quite well. Hand him install 2 heavy duty 3” wheels on bottom back and rest of the cab corners and two handles to grip. I painted front speaker baffle Installed speakers, horn, wiring and Eminence 3 order 1.6 khz High pass filter for horn. The rest of the cab is covered in Duratex. Like moving a dolly. imgur.com/a/e2gFJmJ

That looks awkward and heavy , but I suspect that it sounds wonderful . I’m frequently driving my stuff downtown so I went small , lightweight and modular . I was a dedicated 15 fan for years .

I’d like to hear it.
A few years back I started cutting down weight and settled on a Neo golight Junior 400W 2X10 Bass Speaker Cabinet, Weight: 38 lb, and added a Hartke Neo VX115 @ 39lbs. The amp is a Genz Benz Shuttle Shuttle 9,0. One load with the hand truck. Both are loaded with Neodymium speakers. It’s a great set up.

My old fifteen had wheels , but I still had to lift it up and down stairs , and in and out of the car . 12s are the new 15 .

The old SWR combo was great, the Goliath 4X10 cab was a beast, they sound great though, the speakers were David Eden. Before that I was using an old Fender Bassman 4X10, it had a good sound but the power was boarder line for the gigs we were gettin. I sold it to a buddy who played the harmonica, I took some cash and he threw in an old silver face Vibro Champ, sounds really good with the Telecaster.

Hopefully lowering back seat in my car I can lean it to back seat and then just lift one end and slide it In. I don’t plan on moving it often as I have a single 15” cab for lighter use. Also, Hushnel I talked with Andy and he told me the Horn is not typically used in calculating Handling power of a cab so with that the wattage rating is 1200 watts RMS and if it was derated by 25% for speakers physically being able to handle the the 800 Watts RMS of my TT-800 amp it would be more than enough.

I didn't know that about the horns. My max power of the Genz Benz is 900 @4 Ω. I’ve never needed to max the amp.

A benefit of living in Florida, nearly everything is on the ground floor, and in the odd case, there is usually a freight elevator available.
I remember one venue in Pittsburgh that had a spiral staircase, I used the old 4/10 Bassman at the time.

It was a bit easier with two of us, we considered trying to load them in through a window, but figured too much cosmetic damage to the speakers. The PA was a pain too but these speakers were smaller than they generally are now, more along the lines of monitors.

It looks like it would sound great. 15" speakers are my favorites for bass and scoop bottom cabs I've used or heard always sounded great.

I made a movable Vent shelf extension and installed it in my 2x15 bass cab. I ended up with the shelf fully extended adding 3”. This resulted in with better, tighter low end. As a result it handles my 5 string active bass very well. turned the horn down all the way as it did not need it. The shelf locked down with 2 wing nuts. I used 2 rubber washers (To hold tension on the wingnut to help keep it tight)and flat washers imgur.com/a/f0HUvbT

All that matters is you are happy with your personal choices and it works well for you. I do love the tone but wish I could get that tone in a smaller light weight amp.

That cab looks like it would kick serious butt with that TT800.

That cab looks like it would kick serious butt with that TT800. It does pretty darn good. The one thing I could have done away with is the Horn. It needed it with Eminence Kappalites 3015's but not needed with the Faital Pro 15H520's. More of a nuisance with those unless you want a lot of slap tones but that is not may Baileywick. I had to install a "false top" just below the Horn and adjust the vent area to better fit the Faital Pro's. Once I did that it took the flab out of them and they now kick some lows but with good Low mids and sweet upper mids.
