I got my second booster shot this afternoon, as I’m leaving this guy’s coming in, I say hi to him, he responds telling me his leg is bothering him, I offer to get him a chair, he says naw it’s OK. He asks if I’m veteran, I say no but I was born at Lackland Air Force base. We start talking, one of those rare occasions when you just connect. He tells me he does remodeling, gives me his business card, I give him one of my homemade cards. I can’t recall how music came up, he plays and his son plays, they knew the Lynyrd Skynyrd guys.
He says come to my next party, I’ll let ya know when it is. Bring your guitar, we’ll have some fun, his neighbor will be there, John Anderson. I guess I was testing him, I said I think his song should be the State of Florida anthem, he says Seminole Wind. Yep. Maybe I’ll bring the old Guild B-50 fretless.
