Geno's thread provided an inspiration. I don't think we've ever done this. How many of us own HSS guitars? Drop us a pic and a blurb about it.
I bought a Carvin Bolt Kit in '98 and stained it with tung oil. I named it Rosie because of the pickguard color. I kept the original Carvin AP11 pickups for a year so and then replaced them with Fralin Blues Specials. Over time, I quit playing it because I've never bonded with the bridge pickup in a strat. I even contemplated selling it over the years but, a couple of years ago, I decided to turn it into a project guitar. I completely gutted it and replaced everything except the Fralin middle and neck pups. For consistency, I added a Fralin low-wound bucker to the bridge. This guitar is now a keeper for life and sounds wonderful.

Strangely, I don't have one.
I like either or!

I have the new PRS L1, and I also have this beast: an early-80s Charvel Model IV. This one has active EMGs and a Floyd. I don't play it much, but it comes out for recording when a stunt guitar is necessary. Only a Superstrat with a Floyd and active pickups can do that thing they do so well. I got this in a trade for a BC Rich Mockingbird in 1990. Here's another one that technically qualifies...it's one I built in 2005. I like weirdo guitars and I like building them. The body is poplar and it has a Duncan Li'l 59 humbucker in the bridge, with two Duncan Five-Two Tele neck pickups. It got named the Stingray because my hunnie said it looked like a stingray. As weird as it looks, the upper and lower horns are fairly identical to those on the Jazzmaster. The rest of the body just tapers to a rounded end.

The "Stingray" looks like a Vox teardrop went on a bender with a Mustang.

I snagged this one last year - a 2009 Jackson DKL2. It was played but not beat and needed a good cleaning, a screw or two (replacing rusty ones) and a fret dressing. I also swapped out the stock Seymour Duncan JB in the bridge for a SD Parallel Axis Blues Saraceno model which is like a slightly hotter version of a PAF. Love that pickup! The single coils are the stock Duncan Stacks, and they sound fantastic. Thinking about it... I put new pots and switch in it while I was under the hood.
FWIW - these SD Stacks are the best-sounding "single coils" I've found for a HSS. They sound great with the 500k volume pot.
I've also got a 2020 Charvel, but it's H/H. It's also my only black guitar.

The only HSS I have is this Squier gifted to me by a friend who tried to get his granddaughter to play but she lost interest. I converted it into a pseudo baritone (B to B) using primarily 6 of 7 strings from a EB Power Slinky 7 string set.

^ Mine is wired for master volume, master tone, and the third pot is a blend pot for the bridge and neck. It works very well.

I can’t do the picture thing, but mine is a Fender AmStd Dlx HSS with an LSR roller nut and a trem bridge. It’s black with gold flake and has a gold pick guard. I’ve never been too crazy about the finish or guard, but it unseated two Tom Andersons as my number one. This one isn’t mine, but looks just like it. www.ebay.com/itm/134024859980?chn=ps&mkevt=1&mkcid=28

Lester, that's a classy looking instrument! I've been thinking for some time about getting a gold anodized pickguard made for my white Cutlass but have yet to pull any trigger. You've just reminded me and pushed me a little closer!

My Bastardcaster with 2 humbuckers has a buttercream body that started as a HSH Strat, so I suppose someday I could convert it to HSS.

This is the picture Sweetwater sent me when I ordered mine. I plan on upgrading the pickups someday, as well as the pots and switch.

Mine on the day I got it, still with the plastic on the H of HSS. I bought one of the originals back in the early ‘90s. Mine was white with a rosewood board.
