"When he was 10 years old, Don Gorske told his dad that when he grew up, he was going to eat at McDonald’s every day of his life. The Fond du Lac, Wis., man is living his childhood dream — this week, he marked a sesame-seed-crowned milestone when he celebrated 50 years in which he has eaten at least one Big Mac nearly every day." Since 1972, Gorske has consumed 32,943 of the fast-food chain’s signature sandwich. Some days, he eats two." Clinicians speculate that when he dies, his chemically infused body probably won't need embalming. "He'll be perfectly preserved, just like a 1,000 year old Hostess Twinkie." www.guinnessworldrecords.com/news/2022/5/man-celebrates-50-years-of-eating-a-big-mac-every-day-704354

Yeah, no. No Mickey D here. Especially Big Mac. Well except the annual fish Sammie. I am bad.

Of all their burgers I like the Big Mac the most. I like them too, but not enough to eat them every day. I bet the comment about the preservatives in his body is correct.

A Big Mac combo meal is something of a luxury item today.

“I’ll have a fountain of youth, extra pickles and fries please.” I understand he never eats the fries.

The fries are the best part. You can even put them in the sandwich.

When I eat a Big Mac I keep eating it for several hours. The fish sandwich is my go to. I've yet to try the spicy chicken.
Yep definitely a luxury now-a-days.

The double cheeseburger is the best deal on their menu. It seems to be overlooked by 95% of the McD's customers, not even shown on the menu, usually.
If you haven't tried it, don't try to argue! My wife always gets a Big Mac, and I"m like, "What were you thinking, girl?"

My granddaughter likes Big Macs but they are just a bit too big so I order a double cheese burger with Mac sauce. Lots cheaper too.

Have her try a double cheeseburger with added secret sauce. I have had that before. In addition there is great similarity to a double double with extra spread from In-and-Out

They were marketing a “mini Mac” a few years ago which was basically this. I’m not a fan of the sauce personally, but on a rare occasion I like one with just a little bit of Mac sauce.

I only like the Mac without the sauce. I probably have 2 a year.

I'm a big fan of double cheeseburgers and I can walk to a McDonald's from my place. When they were two for $5, I ate two for dinner for two months in 2019. Definitely my favorite cheap food ! And my new Summer ritual. But that was before the Pandemic and inflation and wage increases and supply snafus. I'm afraid to look at the price now... (COVID data removed -Fitz) And that number about matches my weight gain in the last 2 years ! So much for my old new ritual. Maybe I can lose weight from over practicing music ? I'll have to give that a try and find out. How many calories does one use playing guitar for an hour ? Strangely, I've never seen a calorie book mention this important activity...

Aah Fitz...can't even sneak stuff in ? Dang. Well, that's the rules. I guess I better think BA.4 I write anything Pandemickylike. Thinking is hard though... More interesting is how many calories does guitar playing use ? Here's a helpful chart I made up. Stevie Ray > 1000 calories/hr John Denver < 50 calories/hr. This is important information that deserves a rich grant from the government to study I'm sure. For it can tell us geetar slingers how much alcohol we can consume without getting fat ! It also can tell us how many geetar slingers aren't practicing enough to offset their calorie intake. Something this important could get a Nobel prize for some diligent researcher ! I'm pretty sure...

I haven't had a Big Mac in about 50 years. Had one as a kid and was like "Nope" and I've never had one since. I too, of forced to go to McD's, choose the hidden double cheeseburger.
If we're going to a fast food burger joint I usually lobby for Culvers. Much better burgers IMO.
In my early 20's I ate McD's a lot. I lived a really busy life...sailing 5 days a week or more, I was a drive through regular, wolfing down a mcmuffin and hash browns in the car on my way to the lake or a quarter pounder with cheese on the way home.

I truly believe I could duplicate this guy's feat. Yep, I believe I could eat a Big Mac (with fries) every day and not get tired of it.
That said, I haven't eaten at a Mickey D's in at least a decade due to the less-than-favorable health rating. This guy's luck with his health is an anomaly.
However... my mother was an alcoholic who smoked three packs/day of cigarettes since she was 13 years old. She rarely ate any good food (preferred a cigarette and an alcoholic beverage over food) and yet was never a pound over or underweight. She lived to 86 and never even had a mild cough. The only reason she died at 86 was she just got tired of living and took her own life.
My sister and I thought we should will her body to science to see what made her tick. The biggest downside of this is that my sister and I were exposed to enough second hand smoke up through HS that it was probably as if we were each smoking a pack/day ourselves. Hopefully the genes we inherited from her will keep us going. So far, so good (I'm 76, my sister is 78).
