It seems that some aspects of society have figured out that you can take someone to a secluded private place.
Knock them out ... in one way or another.
Then use their phone and their "passed-out" face to drain their bank account.
Just say'in

"For $29.99 a month, a website called PimEyes offers a potentially dangerous superpower from the world of science fiction: the ability to search for a face, finding obscure photos that would otherwise have been as safe as the proverbial needle in the vast digital haystack of the internet.
A search takes mere seconds. You upload a photo of a face, check a box agreeing to the terms of service and then get a grid of photos of faces deemed similar, with links to where they appear on the internet."
"PimEyes users are supposed to search only for their own faces or for the faces of people who have consented, Mr. Gobronidze said. But he said he was relying on people to act “ethically,” offering little protection against the technology’s erosion of the long-held ability to stay anonymous in a crowd."

A close friend died suddenly in an accident at home, and the investigating detectives had to unlock his phone using his thumbprint. They mercifully didn’t tell his wife how they did it.

The facial recognition on my iPhone won’t unlock the phone unless my eyes are open and I’m looking at the phone. And I’m not sure how someone would drain my accounts, any ways, with the MFA I have set up. And just gaining access doesn’t equate to “drain.”
And… from my corner of the world… I don’t see it happening to me/us.

As to theft, the only thing on my iPhone that worries me, is a photo of Greenpeace volunteers pushing me off the beach back into the ocean, under a "Save the Whales" banner.

I don't like it when I'm out and about and someone that knows me sees me and wants to talk about their cats, kids, the news, blah blah bah. No technology necessary. I hate people.

This is not unique with you, I venture to guess after all these years many of us dislike humans.

Just saying.

I had my phone set up for password and fingerprint recognition, either/or to get in. Then my banking app has fingerprint logon. Then this thread comes along and I envision being found in a dumpster, phone and fingers missing.
Phone entry passcode only now.

We have these “special” people (usually female) that we would prefer not frequent the establishment …. But there is not a lot we can do to keep them out.
They seem to possess powers one might not imagine over some of our male clientele.
Pretty creative bunch are they.
I often wish I could pull some of these guys aside for 20 seconds of advice. In that moment I doubt it would change anything anyway.

He/she/they would be in for a big surprise, I don't access anything financially important on my phone.

OH, I know how they react. I've been hearing these stories for 17 years. Money gone, Rolex gone, Jewlery (wedding ring) gone, etc. etc. Most refuse to press any charges because they don't want mail for the court showing up back home in Hoboken. Story from yesterday. Guy takes "two" up to room. About 45 minutes later the "two" come down. As they walk past me one says to the other, "Don't worry he's still alive". I have to report that even though I have no certainty who (the he is) she is referring to ... but really that is exactly why I have to report it.
