I used to hate pecans and walnuts. I love ‘em today, if that’s any indication.

Just realized something early this afternoon. I walked down the wheelchair ramp instead of taking the stairs. I think that makes me a geezer. Several others of my age demographic were doing the same thing.
And I was leaving a just-finished funeral. I am not even going to say that the frequency of funeral attendance indicates geezerdom. Or does it?

Health/pain/mental vitality That, to me, is the trifecta of geezerdom. I’m struggling with the pain part. Yes, that’s health-related, but I’m managing the rest of my health pretty well. I'm only struggling with the mental vitality part. Not sure which is worse!?

I have a sister who keeps commenting on this. Like it's some big surprise, or something!? IMO, it's a whole lot better than people coming to your funeral.

Does that mean I have a foot in both camps?

Geezerdom begins when you start raising cane:

We have all been there....do you grunt or groan when you get up from the floor or ground?

Some of the geezers I play golf with make a grunt/snort sort of ackkkkkk sound when they hit a bad shot. They also have what I call the official geezer uniform, white golf shirt, tan or beige shorts, sweaty old tan golf hat with many sweat stains. Don't forget the knee, arm and wrist wrap, including story about how they should get it replaced. Bonus points for the cheesy mustache and goatee, plus extra style points if you have a ponytail, skullet, or soul patch.

Well in my defense I've had a goatee since I was in my 30's.

I am not judging, its just in the Neighborhood handbook what is expected. Dress code, etc. Like the military there is specifications like how much speedo can be seen and how much must be sucked into a body crevice. No alcohol at the pool unless you sneak it in, purchase your drinks from the bar... the usual things.

Today is my first day on Medicare. I think that pushes me over the geezerhood qualification hump, if there was any doubt about it before that is. I think I’ll put on a white shirt, tan shorts, sweat-stained cap, and visit my doctor. 😉

Do you have a golf cart you can drive to the doctor?

Ok, after reading this whole thread I've decided I'm not even close to geezer yet!

From age 73, 50 is still young.... Just take care of your health and Geezerdom will be decades away...
