I picked up a Dano 12 string years back for recording purposes. I find the instrument evil. I've done my best to set it up, have popped more high g strings than songs I've used it on. But there isn't anything quite like that distinct sound.

I have a Dano 12 string as the top half of a double-neck. I used to have a Rickenbacker 460 - 12 string and I like the sound of the Dano better. It has chime for days and certainly stays in tune better than the Rick. Sounds incredible through my Vox AC15H1TV. The neck on the 460 was too narrow for my kielbasa-sized fingers. I could hardly play it. i.postimg.cc/MGDhCWxK/Dano-1.jpg

I bought my Dano when MF had them discounted years back. Previously I tried replicating the sound by multi-tracking with a capo positioned up, but nothing beats a real 12 string.

Nice! I have a Dan 59 NOS+ that is really a good guitar (and blue metalflake!) I'm too lazy to change 12 strings. I use a Mosaic pedal which does a good job.
