Hey guys, I am having an issue on one of the high gain patches. It only happens on certain notes high on the neck. I have read where you can eq this out to fix it. But I know absolutely nothing on how to eq or what all the terms mean that are tossed around.
Do any of you have any experience with this. I think some call it digital fizz.
Thanks David

No experience with the GT100, but is this happening with more than 1 guitar? I've had things get weird through digital devices if the pickups were too high and digging in deep when playing.

I have a GT100 (and a 001, that shares full compatibility with patches).
There's an EQ block in the thing you can adjust, and you can add additional EQs in the secondary assignable areas as well.
There's a master unit one as well IIRC.
What exactly aren't you finding?
Do you have Tone Studio?

I know how get to the eq.s but I don't know anything about using the eq's is my problem. I do have tone studio and use it some. I know there is a global one and there is one in the patch and other patches that I am working on. I hate to say how lacking I am but I don't know like what Q is or shelf is. But once I hear the fizz or what ever it is, it is very annoying.

I only have one electric guitar at home. I can get one and try it. I am playing a carvin guitar and it is set up like I received it from them. I play mostly on the neck pu single coil and some both pu humbuckers.

Set up a tight cut, usually somewhere between 4 and 5 kilohertz. Sweep it in reverse (boost it) first to find the offending frequency. Then pull it down to cut it.
Here's some good info:

It's also a case of "I can't tell you what to do exactly."
You need to listen with your ears, adjust, repeat. You learn by doing with EQ and compression more than knowing what the terms mean.
Just knowing is meaningless.
Application is EVERYTHING.
You also have other options in the thing past EQ that will radically affect the sound - you can adjust the "T-comp" (touch sensitivity, basically), select the micing options and speaker options in the simulated amp, etc. You can throw the amp model out the window altogether and turn the dials on the "custom" settings to get something you like - same with the speaker emulation.

I did adjust the eq in the patch yesterday and it seems to help some. I adjusted the 5.00 to minus 8 and used a .5 Q this seemed to help. I will listen again today as I practice. One thing that makes it harder besides ignorance is the I wear hearing aids and it get confusing sometimes. I hope to have a clear perspective today after not listening since last night. I am one of those guys that don't just go in and start turning a bunch of knobs in fear I will mess something up and not know what I did to recover what I had. I know that is not the best mind set but it is what it is. I hope I find it better.

Save presets - copy them.
Play with the modified ones, copy again when you're happy, etc.
You don't have to worry about messing it up - until you hit save, you're not permanent, just swap to another then back.

I brought home another guitar I had a work today that I'm going to try when I get done with a few items around the house. I hope I have some time left over to work on it tonight.

I have tried a few things today and one seems to make the most difference. I tried it on a few different patches that had different amps. When I put the mic level to zero and use all direct it seems to almost go away. Does that make any sense and does it hurt anything. I assume that that means its all amp sound? I also on one patch changed to a different mic and left some in the mix and that sounded better too.
Are there any pros or cons I am missing?
Thanks

There aren't any pros or cons.
Use your ears, and tweak away.
