Picked up an Eventide H9Max now that the replacement has been announced and prices dropped significantly - it's a hell of a box even if it has a crappy UI without the editor, and can only do one algorithm at a time, even if they often can do many things at once.
I haven't even tried out half the algos yet, let alone dove deep, but there are sounds in this thing that no mortal being can produce!

Yeah, it looks good from the reviews...but one FX at a time ? For a guy with a ton of pedals(like someone around here) it shouldn't be a big problem with 2 in and 2 out jacks, but as a replacement for a whole pedal board, I don't get that at all ! But quality and control of quality is good stuff for sure. Especially at a discount. I guess I could just get 4 of them. I think I saw somebody with a pedalboard like that. You only have three more to get...

Yea, it's not designed to be a 'whole board' replacement thing, and is very very poreset driven, the latter of which they've corrected a bit in the new (using the same algos and a few new ones) 2 at a time upgrade that has an actual screen instead of the few characters and some knobs etc.
Even that wouldn't cut it though.
I mostly just wanted it for the crazy Eventide stuff I've never been able to afford in the rackmount versions!

I agree, they have some sounds that only that pedal can do. I ended up selling mine, just because I didn't have room on the board and only used at home. Great pedal though. I do see some players use 2 on their board because of the single effect thing

Yea, it's a case of "I like very distinct weirdo generators" - it's why I keep my rackmount vintage stuff around.
Nothing else does Lexicon Vortex weird either, nor the Digitech 12-bit digidelays with adjustable LFO (the RDS series stuff) and non-destructive sample+hold, etc.
