i checked my bias today on my 67 bf pro reverb and the plate voltage was at 493VDC it use to run 480VDC for years but the wall voltage has gone up. I use Tungsol 6L6 tubes. they seem tough can they take it. What is the limit on those tube? My attenuator has a 105vac tap which i can use to lower the voltage down from 125vac but the amp sounds kinda weak and wonder if this could be bad also. it usualy gets so hot you can barley touch it but today i put a fan on the back and it stayed basicly cold to the touch What are you all thought thanks

My thoughts?
I would rather play my guitar than worry about 13 extra volts inside of the tubes.

If it’s bugging you, this product allows you to get full control of the mains voltage supplied to your gear, without having to lug a boat anchor variac around www.brownbox.rocks/Kinda pricey though.

I’ve got a Brownbox for some really old amps. It is a cool gizmo. Buy it used and save some coin.

If you're handy you can also build a poor man's brownbox using a 12V filament transformer, switchable to drop 6 to 12V. I suppose if you wanted to get real fancy you could build digital voltmeters into it to read the incoming voltage and the lowered voltage.
Probably wouldn't cost more than $50

It's not enough of a voltage increase to worry about.
