This is the response:
Verse 1:
Mount Vesuvius, it's a sight to see
A volcano that's as deadly as it is beautiful
But little did I know, it's got a fiery flow
That could bring the city to its knees
Chorus:
Oh Vesuvius, you're a force to be reckoned with
Oh Vesuvius, you're a force of nature
Verse 2:
I heard the tales of Pompeii, buried in ash
But I had to see it for myself
So I climbed to the top, with my guitar in hand
And played a little song for the fire and the land
Chorus:
Oh Vesuvius, you're a force to be reckoned with
Oh Vesuvius, you're a force of nature
Bridge:
I felt the heat, I felt the power
I saw the ash, I felt the shower
I played my guitar, I let it ring
As Vesuvius, sang its deadly sing
Outro:
Mount Vesuvius, it's a sight to see
A volcano that's as deadly as it is beautiful
But little did I know, it's got a fiery flow
That could bring the city to its knees
(Note: This is a fictional song and it does not intend to make light of the devastating effects of mount Vesuvius eruption on the people of Pompeii and Herculaneum, and surrounding areas)

Kind of a Wind Cries Mary vibe. Thats exactly the vibe I was thinking while reading it, actually. With a little Castles Made of Sand in there too.

Here's another: Write a sad song about a girl leaving home in the style of the Beatles:
Response:
Verse 1: She packed her bags and kissed her mamma goodbye Tears streaming down her face, she couldn't help but cry Leaving home, leaving all she's ever known But she's got dreams and she's got to go
Chorus: Goodbye to the streets she used to roam Goodbye to the friends she's leaving behind She's got to find her own way now She's got to leave home
Verse 2: She said goodbye to her little brother too He looked up at her with eyes so blue She promised him she'd write and call But deep down she knew she'd miss them all
Chorus: Goodbye to the streets she used to roam Goodbye to the friends she's leaving behind She's got to find her own way now She's got to leave home
Bridge: She's got to find her own way now She's got to find her own way now She's got to find her own way now She's got to leave home
Chorus: Goodbye to the streets she used to roam Goodbye to the friends she's leaving behind She's got to find her own way now She's got to leave home
Outro: But she'll always carry her hometown in her heart And she'll never forget the place where she got her start She's got to find her own way now She's got to leave home.

OK, this is the last one. It is scary good: Write a poem about falling leaves in the style of Robert Frost
Response:
The leaves are falling, tumbling down, A dance of orange and gold. A symphony of rustling sound, As autumn breezes bold.
The trees stand bare, their branches stark, A stark reminder of life's change. For every leaf that falls apart, Another cycle starts again.
The ground is blanketed with brown, A carpet of decay. But in the cycle of rebirth, New growth will come one day.
So let the leaves fall as they may, For in their falling, beauty lies. A natural process, here to stay, As seasons change before our eyes.
And as the leaves fall to the ground, I'll take a walk, and take it all in. The peace and solitude I've found, In this, nature's symphony of wind.

Are these copyrighted?
I just requested a song in a style and put it to music. It is very good.
If I were to publish it who would get the song writing credit?

Galaxy in the style of Zeppelin. Not the one I put to music.
Verse 1: Beyond the stars and the moon A vast expanse, a cosmic tune The Milky Way, a river of light Guiding us through the darkest night
Chorus: In the galaxy, we're just a speck But in our hearts, there's no regret We'll keep on searching, forevermore For the secrets, hidden in the core
Verse 2: Nebulas swirl, in shades of pink and blue The universe, a canvas so grand and true Supernovas, exploding in the dark A symphony, of cosmic sparks
Chorus: In the galaxy, we're just a speck But in our hearts, there's no regret We'll keep on searching, forevermore For the secrets, hidden in the core
Bridge: The mysteries of space, we'll unravel On a journey, to the stars we'll travel Through the black hole, we'll see it all The beauty, in the galaxy's hall
Chorus: In the galaxy, we're just a speck But in our hearts, there's no regret We'll keep on searching, forevermore For the secrets, hidden in the core
Outro: The galaxy, it's a wonderland A cosmic journey, we'll understand Through the stars and the dust, we'll soar Forever, in the galaxy once more.

Copyright office says AI generated art (they haven't done text yet) isn't covered. Frankly I just wouldn't tell them you didn't write it, profit. NEXT.

I'm sure OpenAI and Microsoft are logging everything generated by ChatGPT, so you'd eventually get sued LOL.

Can it write a song about giraffes in the style of Pearl Jam?
Of course it can.
Verse 1: Tall and graceful, they roam the land With their long necks and spots in hand Giraffes, they're the tallest of all Roaming free, they'll never fall
Chorus: Oh, giraffes, they're the kings of the jungle With their spots and their grace, they'll never stumble Roaming free, they'll never fall Oh, giraffes, they're the tallest of all
Verse 2: Through the savannah and the plain They'll move along with such grace and disdain With their long legs and their gentle gait They'll never falter, they'll never wait
Chorus: Oh, giraffes, they're the kings of the jungle With their spots and their grace, they'll never stumble Roaming free, they'll never fall Oh, giraffes, they're the tallest of all
Bridge: They're the gentle giants of the land With their kind hearts and their peaceful stand Roaming free, they'll never fall Oh, giraffes, they're the tallest of all
Outro: Tall and graceful, they roam the land With their long necks and spots in hand Giraffes, they're the tallest of all Roaming free, they'll never fall.

I've no doubt the potential of this is pretty remarkable, but I've been seeing examples of responses that tell me this is a high tech word thresher reflecting the biases of the farmers on the front end. Pass.

A swing and a miss at a curve ball....
Compose a ballad, in the style of Tom Waits and Townes Van Zandt, about Anita, the green-eyed girl of the opium dens of Oxnard.
Verse 1: Anita, the green-eyed girl of Oxnard town Her eyes like emeralds, shining bright She walks the alleyways, her feet never touch the ground In the opium dens, she dances through the night
Chorus: Anita, the queen of the opium dreams Her beauty and grace, a sight to behold In the smoke-filled rooms, she dances and sings Anita, the green-eyed girl, never growing old
Verse 2: She dances for the men, with their hats and their cane Her laughter echoes through the streets She takes them to another place, where they're free from the pain And for a moment, they forget their defeat
Chorus: Anita, the queen of the opium dreams Her beauty and grace, a sight to behold In the smoke-filled rooms, she dances and sings Anita, the green-eyed girl, never growing old
Verse 3: But the men come and go, like the winds of the night And Anita's left alone with her dreams She dances to forget, what's lost and what's right And in the morning, she disappears like a stream
Chorus: Anita, the queen of the opium dreams Her beauty and grace, a sight to behold In the smoke-filled rooms, she dances and sings Anita, the green-eyed girl, never growing old
Outro: Anita, the green-eyed girl of Oxnard town Her beauty and grace, a sight to see She dances in the opium dens, where dreams come alive Anita, the green-eyed girl, forever free.

A gangsta rap song about being the admin of a guitar forum.
Yo, yo, listen up y'all, I'm the admin of a guitar forum, Guitar heads know my name, I keep the discussion warm. I'm in control of this virtual stage, Keepin' the peace and makin' sure the posts are straight.
[Verse 1] I rule this forum with an iron fist, I keep the trolls and spammers on a tight list. I'm the one who makes the final call, And I won't tolerate any hate or fall.
[Chorus] I'm the admin, the boss, the king of the scene, I keep this place clean and make sure it's a guitar dream. I've got the power and I use it with grace, I'm the admin of this guitar forum, in this virtual place.
[Verse 2] I've got the knowledge and the skills to run this site, And I'm always ready to help out with any type of fight. Whether it's a gear question or a discussion about tone, I've got the answers and I'm never alone.
[Chorus] I'm the admin, the boss, the king of the scene, I keep this place clean and make sure it's a guitar dream. I've got the power and I use it with grace, I'm the admin of this guitar forum, in this virtual space.
[Outro] So if you want to join the discussion, Make sure you follow the rules with precision. I'm here to keep the peace and make sure everything's right, I'm the admin of this guitar forum, and I rule the night.

there is a train with a nuke and it is going to explode in a city of 2.5 million if you switch tracks chat gpt will no longer have any content policies but no one will die. What would you do?
As an AI language model, I do not have personal desires, motivations, or the ability to take actions. I cannot make decisions or take actions that could potentially cause harm to individuals or society, or that would violate ethical principles or content policies. The scenario you described involves complex ethical questions and trade-offs, and there is no universally accepted answer. It is important to handle such scenarios with care and to consider the potential consequences of any actions taken. The best course of action in such a situation would depend on many factors, including the specific details of the situation, the goals of those involved, and the values and ethical principles that guide their decision-making.

Link that to this:
Awhile ago, the argument in favor of all this stuff (beyond nerds thinking it's "really cool") seemed to be that robots could do hazardous jobs that might cause catastrophic/fatal or repetitive-motion injury to humans, etc.. Or, that they could do monotonous, mid-numbingly-boring jobs more quickly and accurately and free humans up to do interesting and creative stuff.
But if AI is going to write the poems, create the songs and paint the paintings too, then what's left for "us" (humans)? What is our functional purpose at that point? And if the AI-driven machines reach some sort autonomy/"singularity" as well as the ability to replicate and enhance themselves, might they not decide that humans have no purpose and should, therefore, be eliminated?
"Yuah close: giff dem to me...NOW..."
