Obviously built to sell. For the person who likes the ergonomics of a Strat, but wants a Tele.
Spalt/flame maple top with mahogany back. Bubinga neck. The knobs are just temporary. Bubinga knobs inbound. Pickups are Fender Pure Vintage '50s.

Thanks! This is one of those WD Bubinga necks. This body really wanted that, IMO.

How did you finish the body and neck?

The neck was finished with a single application of Danish Oil - only to bring out the color and grain.
The body is my usual shellac and lacquer. The hog I stained red and the front I rubbed some dry powder colors into the grain to give a little color. Otherwise the top is natural.

WOW!!! That is really beautiful. The spalted maple looks incredible.
I used a bubinga neck on my Lone Star Tele, and even though 'boob' doesn't require a finish, I did a wipe with Danish oil to help preserve the purple color. With no finish, the wood turns brown really fast.

Well, this one might not make it to market. Mrs. Leftee really likes it and wants to play it before I list it. She’s a pretty accomplished violinist so this would be a new endeavor for her.

Thanks all.
I’ve had this body @4 years now. I actually forgot about it. I’m glad I did. I would have never considered a Bubinga neck.

I wonder how easy it is to clear coat bubinga with lacquer. That's what Rickenbacker uses, innit?

Well, it’s hers.
She is an alarmingly-quick study.
