Is there any "special" technique you use to ensure the bridge is well grounded. In most cases I think I have just run the bare wire up under the bridge and screwed the bridge down ... call that good. Here is what I just did. Cleaned off the back of the bridge with sandpaper. Then I stripped the wire and soldered a loop at the end for the bridge screw to pass though. Run a wire and call it good is my method.

^^^Yep.
The one thing to do though is to strip enough insulation from the end so there's only bare wire coming out of the little hole.
You don't want to compress the insulation as well as the bare wire.

Yes indeed. I had to strip that one just a bit more after I made the loop.

When in doubt, grab a meter. I've found those bridge grounds are often not that fussy.

When possible. I’ll tin the end of the wire with solder and stick it into the hole of one of the bridge mount screws. I’ll certainly get a good contact to the screw and the screw will certainly be tight against the bridge plate.
