I’ve got a 1980 Gibson J200 in dire need of a neck reset. I’ve had a local luthier look it over but due to his age (he’s 77), health and failing eyesight, he’s uncomfortable taking it on. He believes it has the “paddle” neck joint that Gibson used between the mid-70s and 1990 that makes it difficult to inject steam to loosen the glue. I’m about 2 hours from Nashville and wouldn’t mind taking it to someone there, I just don’t know who. Does anyone have any recommendations for someone good down there that might have some familiarity with Gibson necks of that era?

Talk to Gary at King Bee Guitars. He does stellar work. I have been using him for my guitar repairs for years and he has never let me down. He's on about Harding Place and Trousdale Drive in Nashville. PM me if you want his number.
