I have 3 days of vacation. I need to use-it-or-lose-it before April 10th.
You all might be reading more of my malarkey than usual for the duration.
I have a Camaro project to deal with. Radiator seems to have a small leak. Nothing that makes the car undrivable, but a leak none-the-less.
I'll be dropping it off today for repair.
Then some yard work I need to get done before we start seeing 100° plus days.

This mini-vac of yours is the universe testing to see if you're ready to retire. If you rush around getting things done .... sorry ... you're not ready yet.
In retirement, the best day to get things done is "tomorrow." Try saying it with me .... To - MORR - oh.

I have not worked since Sept 2021. This has not gotten old yet. Enjoy your time off!

This mini-vac of yours is the universe testing to see if you're ready to retire. If you rush around getting things done .... sorry ... you're not ready yet. I would not be happy if I had to sit around all day. I'm always driven to be doing or creating something. I can stop for an hour or two, but I tire of that pretty quickly. I'll say this, If I get to a point where I am incapable of doing and creating things ... that is a time I dread even thinking about. I witnessed exactly that with my Father. The final several years of his life were dreadful to watch. Not because he was sick and bed-ridden (he was not), but he was unable to get out and do all the things he loved and that I had watched and learned from for my entire life up to that time.

So right before covid I chose to retire rather than drive 2 hours each way, as I had for 6 months following my move to this current home. My employer at the time was adamant about no work from home, telecommute, no flexibility at all. Three months later Covid hits and everyone in the world is working from home. I on the other hand was enjoying not working, and just living. Travel and golf were great.
Last year I played over 200 rounds of golf and screwed my foot up with overuse. OOPS. So much less golf and more not doing much. this equals boredom. Depression and basically not a good spot.
So much so that I started looking for a work from home gig, and start at the end of the month. I have never been so excited to start something new, just because I was going crazy not having things to occupy myself. One can only watch so many stupid series and moves and crap.

Hmmm, turns out I ordered a new radiator. The one I had was a factory reproduction and the tubes seem to be very lightly soldered in at the ends. I had a couple of tiny leaks, which is why I was doing the project to begin with right now. At the shop they were able to show where many of the tubes (while not leaking liquid) were “oozing” coolant at the ends. Concern being… when you seal up the ones leaking liquid, the ones weak enough to ooz now will quickly develop into liquid leaks. A re-core runs $700.00. A new radiator (one many participants on the Camaro forum) are happy with, runs $425.00. I’ll pack the old one in the box the new one arrives in and save it just in case that re-core starts sounding like a good idea later on. Hopefully the new one arrives by Friday. 😜 One of the next projects on the agenda is to shorten the rear bumper for Queenie's 54 F100. OH, and build a license plate recess into it while I'm at it. I saw where Chevrolet is dropping the Camaro for this next year. I've seen that report. Fortunately, mine got in before the deadline

All done! I took a little extra time to make sure some details were taken care of in a manner that meets my satisfaction. IMG_4934 by Larry Madsen, on Flickr
