Ok, here's the verdict- partial success. The pistol definitely goes in and out a bit easier. But I'm going to give it another 24 hours in the bag. HD, I am using a ziplock bag. And while we're waiting, let me tell you this: this is my first Glock, a Gen4 19. And I am very impressed with it. Shoots nice, breaks down easy, easy to clean. I was lucky to find it, as it was basically brand-new, never been fired. The Gen5s are out now, don't know what the changes were. But I traded a .22 rifle and $280 for it, which was a pretty good deal, I think. I guess this means no stropping leather for me on the cheap. Not looking too good, dude.

Okay, it's working! Gotta give it a good tug to get it out, but the difference is notable. Think I'll give it another 24 hours.
Thanks again, Harleyboy, for the tip!

This is solving the too-snug fit problem with my custom press-fit folding knife sheath too.

Be sure to test it with the holster on. Once belted I'm finding it needs a little more work. It may have something to do with my rubenesque physique.🤣

Probably better than a MC Escheresque physique.

Well, it's still a little bit too snug, but 95% better. I can work with it now.
All that is left to do is to grind the serial number off the pistol and tape up the grip with electrician's tape and I'm good to go!
But seriously, you guys might be interested to know the reason for the new pistol/holster. We've had a couple of mountain lion incidents on one of the trails that we hike a couple times a week. In the last one, a trail runner was coming down the mountain when a lion started following him. The guy yelled, threw rocks, etc, but the lion wasn't scared off. It finally left him alone once he got down towards the town.
Scary. Time to start carrying again.

Yikes, for that application I might choose a bigger caliber. Watch yer 6 keep one in the pipe🤠 I tried carrying my old .357 a couple times, but it's so heavy I kept veering off to my right and walking off cliffs and falling in the river. Six rounds vs. fifteen, too. Or 30. Gotta consider that.

I had a holster that was too tight. They told me to put wax paper on both sides of the gun, insert it and remove. Do it until the Gun was easier to insert and remove. Don’t remember how long it took but it worked for me.
