Ok, we've all watched our share as kids but I still get a kick out of them. I'll stumble on a couple episodes now and then and can't stop laughing. Though they're slapstick I find myself laughing at them more than almost anything on television to this day along w those great 70s sitcoms like All in the family, Barney Miller, Mash, Mary Tyler Moore, Good Times, Taxi etc. It goes a bit deeper for me because the Stooges bring back memories of me, my brother and father waking up to the smell of bacon and pancakes or waffles on a Sunday morning. Mom would be cooking and we'd be cracking up watching the 13" black and white TV. She never laughed once, like a lot of the female persuasion she never got them but was happy her husband and sons were on the same page for those couple hrs. I saw them so many times I can still recite the dialogue almost word for word. Those guys were just brilliant....

I remember !
The 3 stooges and Jerry Lewis and the Man from U.N.C.L.E. were the first TV shows I saw(no TV until I was 14 !).
I saw some Stooges fare on Amazon or Netflix last month...might be time to check it out again.
I haven't had bacon and pancakes and waffles since that time either.
Been running a long time I guess !
Um...do pancakes and bacon turn me into a jazz guitarist ?
Thanks for the smile !

The Three Stooges are on every Saturday evening on MeTV. The first comedy shorts similar to the Stooges that I remember watching on tv before I was exposed to their material were by Leon Errol. I remember him doing a character called Lord Epping.

My name is Larry and as a kid had red hair. My oldest brother had jet black hair, the middle brother was a bit portly.
I'm surprised we survived childhood 😄

"I tried to think and nothing happened!"
My favorite Curly quote.

Brilliant and timeless. I binge watched their entire collection in chronological order a few years ago and enjoyed every minute of it. I'm very fond of that genre of comedy and think The Marx Brothers are great too.

Joe/Curly Joe, no. But I thought Shemp was great. Not Curly great, but he had his own thing.

I had a friend growing up who's father might have been, uhhh, connected. He would sit there watching the Stooges laughing like Paulie Walnuts. Probably the only parent I knew that was into the Stooges. My dad tolerated them, my mom thought they were stupid.

Joe/Curly Joe, no. But I thought Shemp was great. Not Curly great, but he had his own thing. Shemp was ok. I couldn’t even watch when they had Curley Joe. So hoakie. Curley was more kid like which resognated with me as a child. It took all (but Curley Joe) to make the show but when young I got angry at Moe for mistreating Curley. But then when a child I got mad at the stupid cat for trying to hurt Tweety Pie and wasn’t until I was watching it with my children that I realized it was Tweety Pie doing all the hurting LOL

"Calling Doctor Fine, calling Doctor Howard". All in all, I'd rather be Larry.

Y'all are forgetting Joe. Just plain Joe. Not Curly Joe. After Curly left, there were Shemp, Joe, then Curly Joe. One was named Joe Besser and the other was Joe DeRita, but I don't know which was which.
Joe had the traditional bald head, bald on top with hair on the sides.

Yeah, Curley was my favorite but couldn’t get into Shemp and Curley Joe Yea, when Curley left I quit watching. I used to get up early because at 6 AM they were on TV. I put on Loony Tunes when Shemp or Curley Joe were on.

I love the Three Stooges. I agree about the Curley Joe episodes. Brutal.
One of my favorite lines is when Moe says to (Larry, Curley or Shemp):
"Remind me to kill you later".

I seem to recall my 2 brothers and me laying on the floor, fists under our chins and anxiously waiting.
🎵dun-dun-dun...
If it was a "Joe" episode there would be tears...😄

I guess I'm weird. I never thought they were that funny. Then again, I've never been a fan of over-the-top slapstick comedy.

My mom did not like is watching them because, in her words, they were vulgar. I think she was more concerned about us poking each others' eyes out.

"watch out what you hang on that chandelier, its not strong" "tinsel, tinsel, its ONLY tinsel" "its too much tinsel" "I'm warning you, that's too much tinsel" "what harm could ONE more teeny weeny piece of tinsel do?" <<<CRASH>>> Dialogue from a 3 Stooges Christmas EP that's forever burned into my synapses. Wreck the Halls start at :45
