For years my wife had been badgering me to take her to see Phantom of the Opera, and I finally caved. For some reason there were no tickets available on line for the 13,982th show, so we just showed up with our Milk Duds and Twizzlers.
Who knew the play would close after only 13, 981 performances? I offered to take her to see the Super Brothers Movie instead, but she wants to read the book first.

I think my wife and I saw the Phantom of the Opera back around 2004 and thought it was a very well done show.

I live in N.Y. about an hour and a half from Toronto. I saw the Phantom there 5 times. The first in 1989 when it opened and the last in 1999 with Paul Stanley! It was awesome every time. Paul Stanley was a great Phantom. Growing up going to shows on Broadway and in Toronto and Buffalo, I figured that Paul would be able to pull it off and it wasn't just a stunt to sell tickets. He did a great job!

Took my daughter last summer, shortly before the closing was announced. Glad we got to see it, it really was fantastic.
I heard a recording of Paul Stanley playing the part, and as far as rock stars playing Broadway parts go, he was very good.
