I've listened to some comparisons of the Custom Shop 62 and the Pure Vintage 63; but have not found a comparison of the CS 62 and PV 62.
The specs on Fender's site for both 62s are identical:
• Configuration: Split Single-Coil • Magnet Type: Alnico 5 • Magnet Wire: Enamel-coated • DC Resistance: 10.5K • Inductance: 5.9 Henries • Bobbin Material: Fiber • Lead Wire: Cloth-covered • Pole Pieces: Flush-mount • Tone: Vintage • Output: Moderate (3 out of 5)
Do they sound different and, if so, how?

I have not played the PV62 but have had the CS62 and Pure Vintage 63 I prefer the 63.
What is your opinion of the CS62 and PV63?

LBT, thanks for pointing that out.
As for CS62 or PV63, I like what I've heard of both and tend to think of the 63 as basically an over-wound 62. I could be content with either one but the lower output of the CS62 is probably better suited to the kind of stuff I play these days.

The Custom Shop 62 is a fine pickup Rick. Very clear articulate tone. I just like slightly more low end of the PV-63. I have and used both

That would be my reasoning in making that choice. In an earlier phase of life, I would probably have chosen the other way.
