This isn't a political post, it's a non-party affiliated rant about voting here.
First off, other than Philly and Pittsburgh, PA is a fairly rural state. I live in the next county up from Pittsburgh so I don't get to vote in their elections, I have to stick with whoever is running here in Armstrong county. So far, so good.
Finding information on candidates is nearly impossible in rural areas. We're small time and they don't advertise on TV or the radio. Unless there's a debate covered by the local 6-8 page paper, you really don't know a thing about 99% of the candidates. So I vote blind or skip over that particular contest.
I'm pretty sure this is the situation for most of rural America but Penna does something that I do believe no other state does and that is allowing candidates to cross register between Rep and Dem. Do not only do we not know these people, we don't even know what party they're in because their name shows up on both Rep and Dem ballots. It's possible that a registered Democrat, cross registered could loose the Democratic primary ballot but win on the Republican ballot. So we have a Democrat running as a Republican.
So stoooopid.

Deception seems to be the order of the day on many areas.

We’re just not going to tempt fate by talking about political parties.
