For that price it better be point to point hand wired, have gold plated contacts on the tube sockets and NOS tubes of the 60's like RCA etc. Even then I would not buy it. That is enough power playing bass for a very small venue where guitarists and drummers turn down the volume. Be ok for a guitar amp I guess with the right speaker and voicing. I am sure he runs through P.A. with that.

Yea, the included line out says he's running probably silent on stage and...yea.
But 2K for a mass-produced MIM amp.
No freakin' way.

Kind of looks like something out of the HRD line but the back looks like a Blue Breaker.
That's said, anyone notice the switchcraft jacks? Nice.... I'd have to see a gut shot of the insides before I cast judgment.
I've been told Fender finally got their act together down in Ensenada, and the quality generally is pretty darn good, I didn't quite believe it, till the neck on my MIA crapped out on me. (defect with the nut... always after the warranty, right? ) Ordered a MIM roasted maple replacement neck with a pau ferro fret board. After having a bone nut installed... My assessment: The neck exceeds the quality of the original MIA... bigger hardier truss rod nut, etc...better overall feel.
My opinion on MIM is wait and see... if they are putting that type of quality into MIM gear... (just like MIJ) the stuff is going to get coveted real fast.

I don't judge the MIM on quality - my HRD is an EARLY MIM (like first week or two of production) and has held up admirably and does exactly what I bought it for.
But...at 2k, you're taking "recently serviced, pristine BF Bassman head" territory with enough $$$ for a decent cab left over!

A little wacky?
I think it's only the player series basses that are still under 1k.
I will likely always keep an eye on them, but I suspect most of my future bass acquisitions will be non-Fender.

Nah: I'd get a Mesa Subway D-800 with a 2X10 cab if I'm laying out that kinda ducats.

Sticker shock for sure, but I'd want to see a BOM before I said whether it was wacky or not. It is a tube amp. I don't know what it costs to have the extra transformer (bigger on bass amps), tubes, sockets, and all of that. The regular tube amps have gotten more expensive, too. It could be that they aren't finding smart ways to make production easier/faster so you're paying unnecessarily for things, but I have no idea. a 15" bass driver probably isn't cheap, either.

At the scale they're running, none of that is really going to add up - a hundred bucks, sure.
But...not "I can buy a vintage serviced BF Bassman and have hundreds left" change.

I'd want a PtP tube amp at that price.

It's a case of "it's still a 50 watt amp" basically.
Made in Mexico.
