Yep. And when was the last time you got to see an "Important Blink 182 news"?
Thankfully, decades.

If Fender made a signature Hello Kitty single pup, hard tail with that uber gainy pup, I’d be all in.

"Rushed into production due to overwhelming fan demand"
I'm thinking this is a flat out lie, lol.

The fact you're using "resale value" and Hello Kitty in a sentence together makes me weep (and yes, I know people pay for them).

I think they found a heap of these unsold guitars from back in the day!
When they did a clear out of some old office and thought crap what do we do with this junk?
And some bright spark in marketing said
"Lets re do the serial number and add a few extra $100 to the price tag and say its a long waited reissue and clear this dead stock!"

They were the best selling signature model ever for Fender at the time. It helped that they were usually in financial reach of the biggest fan base. I was just starting in the music industry when they came out, and had a hard time seeing the appeal. Still do, but at this point I kinda get it. 20 years later, there will be plenty of those "kids" in their 30s. Many original owners eventually offed the guitars Blink 182 was a gateway band for a lot of kids who eventually got into other kinds of music, and also meant they had to get a guitar that did more than one thing. Now that they're older, they can look back on it more fondly than with the weird embarrassment they might have had a few years after getting one of these for Christmas.
It seems smart - they're catching a nostalgia wave at the beginning instead of trying to cash in late. The guitar is still silly to me - you can drop an Invader into virtually anything and it will sound the same - but if you're gonna do it, may as well do it in a way that hits some nostalgia vibes.

"Rushed into production due to overwhelming fan demand" I'm thinking this is a flat out lie, lol. Ya think? Does sound like someone wishing to make more money with a "put it out there and see or cast the bate out and hope for a catch". Who knows but might be a nibble LOL
