I took my guitar for a setup at a local shop I hadn’t been to before but had good reviews. Tech calls me and recommends a new nut and I give the ok. I get the guitar back and well, I’d like to get your guys’ opinion on the work. imgur.com/a/gu9HXLn

The low E looks like it’s riding high in/on the slot. The A looks about right. The rest of the strings get progressively lower. At least that’s how it looks from my phone.
What is the string height at the first fret?

Can't really tell on string height. Looks like they used a pre-fab and dropped it in.
I'd check to see if it is seated on the ends. I'm seeing scratches on the fingerboard near the nut, that may or may not be from them. Can't tell on the string heights from the picture, but they look to be in the ballpark, except maybe the high E looks a bit low. If it isn't buzzing I wouldn't worry, though.

It doesn’t look like how I like to set up a nut. But the big question is, how does it play?

Thanks for all the replies. It’s hard to see in the pics but the right side was really sharp and hadn’t been sanded/rounded down. I took it back and well they sanded it down…. From what I gathered the main tech/owner didn’t do the job, the employee/apprentice did. I mean the guitar plays fine, but it’s just a really sloppy job. The scratches weren’t there before; the original nut was being replaced. Also hard to see in pics, but I tried to in one of them., is that it looks like the strings are barely clearing the wood behind the nut and it looks like they filed into the wood as well as the nut, especially on the high e.

Yeah, the ends looked kinda scratchy and I couldn't tell on the seating. The scratches/chips are inexcusable. It means the removal was clumsy. It can be fixed/tidied up, too... which they didn't do. I'd be curious why the original had to be replaced... filling slots is acceptable if you do it correctly.
The wood behind the nut... is what it is. That has more to do with how the neck is shaped back there. The slot height is going to be set based on where it needs to be to play right. Generally you don't hit it back there with a file, though sometimes you have to in order to excavate and to keep the string from rubbing... but that is more common on basses.

Yeah, collateral damage seems pretty inexcusable to me. Not shaping sharp edges seems pretty shoddy too. I personally like a nut to look finished and after shaping edges I work it with micromesh to a nice shine.
And to add, if what I'm seeing on the tuner side of the high E slot is a scratch from a file, I'd be pissed.
