I have a neighbor who is looking to sell older gear that was his dad's. A Marshal DSL combo (2 10's, I think) and a Fender Rumble (1 15). I really am not familiar with them. The pa head is one of the Peavey powered mixers that were everywhere in the late 70's and early 80's so I would guess that is the Era. I have not checked them out except I can see the scars from bar life. We're these a thing back in the day? Any idea on value? He does not know anything about it.

We’d need to know a bit more about the Marshall.

Marshall introduced the DSL model range in 1997. If any of this stuff hasn’t been powered up in a long time (>1year), go easy on it, give the electrolytic caps chance to reform. Try staged power up cycles, just a few seconds (5 to 10 seconds) initially. This kinda process, but shorter power on times, as everything will have solid state rectifiers. www.londonsound.org/Vintage%20valve%20hi-fi.htmYes, the same considerations and constraints apply to solid state gear too; they have big caps which may splooge out unless mitigation is taken.

I don’t remember a 2x10 DSL combo. More deets would help.

Those are a decent SS rig. Used maybe $200-ish. More if in nice condition.

The MG isn't worth much. And it wasn't much of a "bar amp" - the things don't get Marshall loud.
Don't expect to gig with it, even at today's reduced stage volumes.
And I should add keep in mind I've been a SS evangelist for decades...but these aren't any of the ones I ever evangelized about!

I checked it out. Everything worked but it just did not turn my crank. Prolly didn't help that I am not really in the market for an amp. He has that and a Fender rumble advertised for $200 each. I hope he gets it.
