The last time I did a "Meeting" board, there wasn't much to say, so I am not going to post another one. I'm simply going to take the opportunity on behalf of myself, and I am sure that I speak for others as well, to thank everyone for their participation here. It could have been really easy for this group to fall apart when the old place went dark. I actually had that happen on another message board I frequent, we tried to create a replacement, and it failed.
This site hasn't failed. It's still as enjoyable to me as it always has been, and that isn't because of our new surroundings, its because of our membership. WE make this place what it is. And I hope we continue to do so into 2022 and beyond.
That said, my office door is always open. If you have suggestions, comments, gripes, whatever, feel free to either post them in this thread, in a separate Town Hall thread, or message me. I'll do whatever I can to make the site as enjoyable as possible for as many people as possible.

This place is one of the few forums that I still frequent. I too have seen others die (ie, motorcycle forums) or they're on life support. Great bunch here! |

Thanks Mike for continuing the Moe Show. Aside from quality of membership and administration, I think one reason this place is so civil is the lower membership count. Participating in "other places on the internet" it's obvious that you can get a group of like minded enthusiasts and once the mutual admiration party is over they inadvertently drill down to contention. I'm sure moderators can spot them without even reviewing content. It always reminds me of this old Far Side cartoon which, probably today is no longer PC, but speaks the truth about humanity in general. Any way, glad we're still a warm flickering light on a sea of madness.

I'll pile and and say that I'm glad this place and it's predecessor have been a part of my life for the last 20 years. I was worried when it looked like the end. Thanks for keeping the lights on.

When I first started frequenting music forums, especially the FDP, I was impressed with the collective intellect that was displayed (maybe an exception with Harmony Central). The general public has a tendency to view musicians, especially who've been in bands, as party-hardy miscreants who wear their emotions on their sleeves. This misconception can't be further from the truth, and that intellect has carried over into this forum.

This is the only forum I ever really visit. I am a member on 3 or 4. I think one of the reasons this place is so civil is because of the advanced (cough)maturity of the members. It mostly comes down to respect for one another. I've been involved with yuse guys for about 20 years as well and can't think of a better group of "miscreants" I would like to hang with.
I know we lost a valued member recently so all the rest of you need to live to be 100. That way you'll outlive me.

If I knew things would carry on elsewhere well, I'd have nuked the site ...long before.
I kept it running because I loved the community in spite of the ownership and my perpetual exploitation.
Very glad this has kept going (as well as the refugees on FB)

Due to the congenial environment, coming here feels like being a member of a Cover Band of Brothers.
Another sincere "thank you" to Mike for facilitating the smooth transition to this relaxed and relaxing atmosphere.
Given the unforeseeable and untimely arrival of COVID, with its corrosive contribution to the current, general, social disfunction, MT2 couldn't have come about at a more fortuitous moment!
