There are plenty of others, but just to get the ball rolling, I’ll throw out Simple Man by Skynyrd. I can’t reach for the volume fast enough when that song comes on.

I can’t think of one off the top of my head. But egregious auto-tune in any song irritates me to no end.

I'm really not coming up with a specific song. Maybe there are songs I despise so much that I've forgotten them. 🤣
Yay me!

Born In The USA I can't stand Bruce as it is, but that screaming droning 'song' is an instant channel changer

This has nearly 700K likes on the tube so I'm calling that a hit and I hate everything about the song excepting the end. And then I'm grateful.

Just about anything by Skynard. Too much endless and repetitive pentatonic wanking. There are others that I will refrain from mentioning due to my not being disowned by everyone on the site.

It’s all good.

I also can't think of a specific song, probably because I'm trying to limit my hate these days to the truly loathsome that offend more than my ears.
But nothing makes me hit the off button faster than a vocal that has the bizarre affection that sounds like the singer has their tongue glued to their upper molars. Female vocalists seem to be more highly afflicted but it's not exclusive. It reminds me of one of my first posts at the old FDP after watching Scott Stapp sing "Gard Bress Uhmurica" at a ballgame. It's a similar affection.

Pretty much anything by the Doors (aside from Light My Fire). To me their sound is sooooo boring.
I Love Rock-n- Roll by Joan Jett ranks high...
many (but not all) songs by Springstein.
pretty much anything by George Thourogood.

It's funny but both Maggie May and American Pie take me to a specific era in my life and are like soundtracks of that time. I don't necessarily measure them by their merits, they're just tolerated as artifacts of that period in my life. Likewise, when I hear "Just The Way You Are" by Billy Joel or "How Deep Is Your Love" by the Bee Gees it reminds me of a particularly aimless era and can't change them fast enough.

Fly Like An Eagle, or pretty much any Steve Miller...except Living In The USA. If you're like me, you prefer Miller's pre-Joker material to his post-Joker stuff. I suppose his record company pressured him to be more commercial. Lower common denominator.

Let me take the pressure off of you. AFAIC, ANYTHING by John Lennon or Neil Young should come with a pre-play warning from the DJ so the listening audience has ample time to change the station.

Whenever I see these threads I imagine an emcee walking around a room with a microphone asking an audience "name a song/artist that you hate" and their responses causing a groan of disapproval from half the room. Then it leading to chairs flipping over a la Jerry Springer, lol. I'm not into tipping sacred cows that much, but it's always fun watching and hard not to join in once in a while.
