Coincidentally, I tried to buy the blue stain special DC at Guitar center this morning before I even discovered this thread. I could not buy it. As it turns out, the two they have are floor models, one in Hawaii, and the other in Alaska. Due to corporate policy, and due to Covid-19 they can't ship them from those two locations. I could add them to cart, but checkout gave me a big (-). I talked to CS twice trying to make it happen. Doesn't look good, but waiting for the final word.
GC FWIW does have a Gibson Les Paul Junior Tribute DC Electric Guitar Worn Ebony, but I don't know if there are any shipping issues, or where the guitars are located.
This one is only $599 and free shipping. I could get it shipped to my Guitar Center a couple miles away, I could do curbside pickup!
I like the blue, but I REALLY want TV Yellow. You know, for all those times I'm gonna be playing it on TV.
Actually that's the one I tried to buy this morning before I ever discovered this thread. It's in Alaska, and they won't ship it. I talked to the store that has it. They are not allow to ship out of state due to GC policy. He said it's the same with Hawaii.
The guy at the store said the policy is about issues with the shipping, and access for the people in those states. He would not budge. Their computer system will not allow it either.
Who has them in TV yellow? I haven't looked.

I have a Gibson DC faded in red and it is one of my favs. Light, the pickups can sound snotty or beautiful when turned down a little. Plays great. Didn't like the yellow ones as they had fake wear that looked dumb. This is a stopbar model which is fine with me.
I have an interesting story for you guys. That Blue Stain DC I tried to buy, and couldn't, disappeared from the GC site the next day. I had saved the link on my desktop. Late in the following am I clicked on that link out of curiosity, so see if any DCs were available. To my surprise, it was back, but it was a worn cherry. I popped on it.
I came to the conclusion that GC is randomly putting them up. So I kept watching, and refreshing the page. I was also keeping an eye on the Junors.
Long story short, both the Juniors, and the special, have been randomly popping up. I purchased two more. A blue stain, and another worn Cherry.
These are too good of a deal. Especially the Specials.
Nope, I didn't get any Juniors. Just the Specials. What I know is they originally sold for as high as 999.99 when they first came out. There's completed listings for them on eBay in the 800.00 range new, but people are asking as high as 1200.00 for them.
These are no frills guitars, but to me a Gibson DC with P90s for 650.00 US is a steal. I love the Juniors, and Specials. Fantastic guitars. Light. And I like the flat tops too. Simple, and beautiful slab.

I was right. They're just doling a few of these out a day. They sell out, but then they reappear in the wee hours. BTW, when I said these are 650, that was with tax. 599.99 is actual price, and free shipping.
