...gave me GAS, and that led to a NGD in my future... Bought a small guard, "natural burst" lefty SG, which will probably be here late next week. Here's the Reverb link: reverb.com/item/34285483-left-handed-gibson-sg-standard-2013-natural-burstIt has 57's in it, which was a major selling point, along with the small guard. I really wanted a red one, but this kinda matches one my son has, so it's cool that way. It has some major oversized (heavy!) locking Grover tuners on it - those will have to go for something much lighter. No sense in giving the headstock more reason to dive. This is my first electric purchase in a while! See what you guys have done to me?

Welcome to the dark side ! Those natural bursts are really cool. I absolutely love my SG. Mine has the vintage tuners. I think the vintage makes for lighter necks for sure. Such a comfortable guitar to play. You will enjoy it.

It’s there. You probably need a Reverb account to see it since it’s a sold listing.

Anyone else have those heavy (locking?) Grovers on a Gibson? Just wondering how they work (although they're definitely coming off)? I may put them up for sale...recoup a few $$.
My previous SG spent some time with Leftee - I have no idea where it is now...

Grover makes a vintage style tuner that fits in the 10mm hole for a typical Grover, et al. I’ve used them to convert Gibson’s w/robo-tuners and also one faded I bought that came with Grovers.

Just put that set on my LP. I wish they were higher-ratio but these are nice, light-years better than the thirty year-old rotomatics that were on the guitar.

I'll have to give them a chance, I guess. We'll see what happens when it's on my shoulder on a good strap.

This is weird. If I click on the link on my 'puter it says the item is no longer available.
If'ns I click on the link on my iPhone, it pops open the app and goes right to the guitar.

Don't be playin' no rowk and roll hippie mess on it.
The roar he gets from the SG in the 2nd half of this vid is glorious.

His right hand style is very similar to Redd Volkaert's. Whatever those guys are eating for breakfast--I gotta get me some. If you're worried about the dreaded neck-dive problem often associated with SGs, Gibson has finally solved that:

Yep, plus I never play my guitars with the neck parallel to the floor . Usually 30 degrees or so. This helps balance things out and brings the first position stuff closer . Just like the video above.

My previous SG spent some time with Leftee - I have no idea where it is now... They came stock on my Goldtop. I haven't changed strings yet, but I think it's going to be very helpful having the strings locked in during changes.
