I swapped pups into a 335 once: required time and patience.
Replacing that jack will also.

Yeah that might require quite a bit. If you give it a try use plenty of painters tape . Looks like the hardest part will be figuring out how to hold the nut from underneath without marring the finish. Maybe making a wrench out of plastic that thick enough to do the job. You can use electrical tape to cradle the nut . Once it gets tightened , it shouldn’t stick to the nut.

If it is wired like most 335's the jack wire should be long enough to come out the lower f-hole. Take a piece of match stick or similar put a little notch in the middle of it and tie a piece of either thick thread or narrow twine round the notch making sure that it can't slip off either end. Grab the remaining part of the jack socket with a tweezers or such and push the threaded stick through it. Use the tweezers or a thin screwdriver to make the wood go across the socket on the inside in a T with the thread. After you do that then grab the jack wire from the three way switch and by gently pulling the jack forward guide it over to the f-hole and out of the body. Unhook the matchstick and string and lay aside being careful not to put a turn into it, I usually wrap it around the switch lever or a pot knob. Remove the broken socket and solder in a new one. Replace the matchstick through the new jack socket and gently pull the new jack back to the hole with the string, use a tweezers or similar to line it up with the hole and pull it through. Place the washer and nut onto the other end of the string and slide them down over the thread and tighten it back up and the jobs a goodun' as the saying goes.

Looks good, you could have left it a little bigger!

Thanks Bill!
The larger size kept cutting the bottom of the guitar off.
Thanks to Mrs Zen for the help!

Thanks for your good advice Salty seadog, but I decided to have someone else do it for me. Thanks for posting the picture of your guitar Zenland, I have wondered what mine, picture posted earlier, would look like with chrome pickup covers instead of the black bobbins.

I've replaced the jack on a SHB. I hope I never have to do it again.

Finally took a couple of snaps. Picked this one up in 1980 for between $700 and $800 dollars. Even corrected for inflation, that's around half what one would cost today. Thought the pups were *meh*, so I stuck in some Harmonic Design Z90s:

As expected, I just got a notice that the 335s in Vintage Ebony are finally in stock...
but I've totally lost interest!
Checkmate, Gibson!

Yeah , I get the impression that 335s are just trickling in. I can’t remember the last time I’ve seen one in stock. It does appear Sweetwater has some red ones and ice tea ones in stock. Those ice tea 335 looks nice , but at 3999 , ouch .

New gear price increases across the board have been ouchy. They’re also dragging up used gear $.

New gear price increases across the board have been ouchy. They’re also dragging up used gear $. It sure has. I just sold my 2011 ES-339 for close to $3K. The guy didn't even try to negotiate the price, he had been looking for quite some time.

Yea, I just looked, I can get a grand or so over what I paid for my no-F hole 339 now apparently.

I'll probably regret selling the 339 about 10 years from now when they're up to $5K.

Yeah. I bought my 335 in figured natural from the CME floor model sale for about 1700. I could sell it now and make around a 1k profit. As tempting as it is, I’m keeping it.

I could conservatively see @100% profit on this Marshall.
