And here I am, been wondering what the heck is wrong with me?! JK!
Thanks for the PSA, I have to go check the pantry now.
Edit: One of the UPC numbers matched, I just threw out almost a whole jar of peanut butter.

This must be pretty wide spread. Everyone I know who's checked has the affected batch.

Thanks for the heads-up, Auf Kiltre.
I have two jars, but both are outside the range of bad jars.
Hey, everybody, make sure to look at lot codes, not UPC codes. The lot code is below the expiration date.

This makes me grateful I am not a peanut butter junkie.

All ours is TJ's brand. But I'm gonna double check with them since I guzzle the stuff.
Edited to say: Looks like we're OK. They seem to have had a problem of this kind back in 2012, evidently nothing since:

Hello- I'm a peanut butter junkie..
1 out of 3 un-opened Jif creamy has the recall number. The opened one is good.

I don’t eat peanut butter, but the girls do. But it looks like we’re out.

We've got a full jar on the list. Kind of miffed that there is not replacement policy, just "discard". I had eaten four saltines worth of the Jiff, didn't get sick.

Costco says to toss it then come to the store for a refund/replacement. Think I'm bringing the bad jars with me, I'll toss them there.

Wait, hold the phone....
My jar has a UPC code that is on the list, but NOT the lot number (which is by the "Best If Used By" date). I think the bad stuff must have both, maybe?

I'm saving mine to bait mouse traps.
Remember the commercial? Bimbo A: "Smell Jif." Bimbo B: "Smells just like real peanuts!" Bimbo A: "Taste Jif." Bimbo B: "Tastes just like real salmonella!"

Damn, One 40oz jar has 5 oz left, and the unopened 40oz jar, are both on the list.
I guess if consuming 35oz of the 40oz jar didn’t kill me, I’ll can assume it’s OK.
So the killer peanut butter is still on the shelf’s? With all that’s going on in the world right now I have to add peanut butter to the list of things to fear.

Since *26 Feb., we've eaten about 2/3 of a 28 oz jar on the list. No problems.
* I write the date on most packages when they're opened.

I had to go back and check the lot code also, but still lost on both. Being in one of the states with the most hospitalizations (2), combined with my usual bad luck, I'm not sure why I even went back to check. Lol

My wife pointed out 1) I have no clue where she keeps the peanut butter, and 2) it doesn’t matter because we (she) uses Skippy.
I do the grocery shopping, I should have known that. Obviously I just shop based on the appearance of the label and don’t actually read it!

I don’t really care for peanut butter but now I want some. You can put it on almost anything! Unless it has one of the UPC codes listed above....

One of the "Mandela effect" things (where people misremember things en masse) is that there is a PB brand "Jiffy". There never was. They're mixing Jif and Skippy in their brains.

I was a hardcore Peter Pan crunchy guy, until I discovered Jif smooth creamy.
Mine check out okay.
